This was, without a doubt, the worst doctor’s appointments I have ever experienced. When I scheduled this appointment, I specifically told the intake staff that I had approximately seven concerns I wanted to discuss and was told that would be fine. I then waited nearly three months, only to arrive and be told I had 15 minute appointment and could only discuss three concerns, this was never communicated to me when I booked the appointment. From the beginning, Viviana was extremely cold and rude. I politely said hello and asked how she was, and she didn’t acknowledge me or even make eye contact. When she asked what I wanted to be seen for, I jokingly mentioned a spot on my arm and said, “Hopefully Dr. can cut into it today, lol,” and her immediate response was, “Well, that’s not going to happen.” When I explained that I had several things I wanted to discuss, she became extremely agitated and repeatedly interrupted me with, “So what are your top three things?” The entire interaction was… unnecessarily hostile and condescending. Dr. Rao was no better. When I explained that I had never been told about the 15-minute/three-concern limitation, there was no apology, empathy, or acknowledgment of the communication issue. I was simply treated as though I was the problem for questioning it. Afterward, the appointment felt incredibly awkward, rushed, cold, and dismissive. Viviana barely acknowledged me and would leave the room without saying anything, which made the entire experience even more uncomfortable. There was also an issue with my medication: I was specifically told by Dr. Rao it would cost $60 through their preferred specialty pharmacy, but when I received the prescription, it was more than twice that amount. I did extensive research before choosing this office because I was looking for a dermatologist I could trust long-term, and this experience was extremely disappointing, impersonal, rushed, condescending, unnecessarily hostile, and dismissive. I can only imagine how someone with more serious or complicated concerns would be treated. I would absolutely not return or recommend this practice. Truly the worst doctor’s appointments I have ever had.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Dr. Ramya K. Rao. As someone struggling with alopecia, I was already feeling vulnerable and emotional when I consulted her. Unfortunately, I was met with a complete lack of sympathy or compassion. Despite being visibly upset and even in tears during our conversation, Dr. Rao remained detached and dismissive, offering no emotional support or reassurance. Her approach was very cut and dry, which made me feel more like an inconvenience than a patient seeking help. When I tried to express that I wasn’t feeling comfortable or getting a good vibe from the interaction, instead of addressing my concerns professionally, she chose to abruptly end the conversation by hanging up on me. This behavior felt incredibly unprofessional and hurtful. I left the experience feeling worse than before, and I would not recommend Dr. Rao to anyone seeking a dermatologist who truly listens, supports, and treats their patients with compassion and respect.

Dr. V is personable and really listens to her patients. She does amazing cosmetic work, too!

Dr. Vangipuram is an extraordinary dermatologist. I have received excellent care from her. She made me feel comfortable and treated me like family. I was nervous about Botox and she answered all my questions. I love my results. I would recommend her to anyone of my friends and family

I had underarm Botox by Dr. Vangipuram for excessive underarm sweating and it has been lifechanging! I can wear colored clothing now. Dr. Vangipuram was very gentle and had great bedside manner. She talked me through the whole procedure and checked in frequently as I was a bit nervous about needles. Will definitely see her again for future sessions!

I'm writing this review on behalf of a family member who saw Dr. Vangipuram for an issue. He waited >1 hour for the appointment, and the visit lasted <15 min. She did not do a thorough physical exam, did not order pertinent testing, prescribed a medication which was not standard of care, and failed to explain her decision-making. Multiple attempts to reach her/her staff to understand why this happened went unanswered. I cannot recommend this physician to anyone.
