Dr. Randall Nixon, MD

Worst office staff. Rude. Could care less about you. Don't go here if you like to be treated nice. Won't tell me why I had a stone unless we do more tests. Only Money matters.

Rude and condescending

Dr. Nixon has been my doctor for 10 years. He is an excellent urologist.

He is well versed in his field

Don't be surprised that the doctor does not show up for your appointment-you will get an assistant instead. Even when making a specific appointment with the doctor-they will try to tell you that all doctors do this now-you don't know if your doctor will be there or not. Upon complaining about it, they call you grumpy and try to tell you over and over that all doctors do this. My appointment was at the State Line office in South Lake Tahoe. The lady assistant could not answer questions about medication, whether I should have certain tests, etc. When I insisted on seeing the doctor, he came in 15 minutes later and was nothing but defensive about having an assistant see me rather than keeping the appointment I had with him. Never, in 60 years of seeing doctors, have I been treated this way, not has my wife, my children, neighbors, etc. I do not recommend this office.

I asked to be referred due to recurring bladder infections but after waiting over an hour, when Dr. Nixon finally came in he just stated talking rapidly, telling me all the things that could be wrong with me, including bladder cancer (which he seemed to prefer) since I had a trace of blood in my urine. (That had been previously diagnosed as due to fragile tissue after menopause.) When I interrupted him to tell him why I was there he showed obvious aggravation. Finally he said I needed a full exam, the assistant had me undress and lay on my back for a long time before he came in. He asked if I was going to be cooperative. When I said, "If you work WITH me," he tore off his gloves and marched out. He later sent me a letter banning me from the entire practice. There are many fine doctors in this area but this is not one of them.

Have always gone above and beyond with any questions, appointments, and/or prescription(s). Very thorough.

Not a review of the doctor but of Urologists LTD. My son was admitted to Carson Tahoe ER and was instructed by ER doctor to contact Urologists LTD ASAP. He called, told the front desk his situation including the referral from the ER doctor and was told they could not see him for another 18 days! They did not offer any alternatives just "sorry", enjoy the pain.

And it turned out I was in fact with an infection. It took another urologist almost a year to knock out the infection, and during the time I was seeing nixon, it had ended up causing physical damage. So now I'm in constant pain until my current urologist can fix it. :(

My husband was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer by Dr. Nixon and he removed them and made a neo-bladder out of a section of his colon. We trust Dr. Nixon completely. He has always demonstrated the highest professional conduct and is extremely knowledgeable in urology. He is an exceptional surgeon. He is kind, compassionate, and explains everything so that you can understand it (even drawing pictures). His staff is the best! With our greatest pleasure and sincerity we highly recommend Dr. Nixon.
