Dr O’Hara is an exceptional Doctor! Very knowledgeable and he listens to his patients!

Dr O'Hara knows his business and will try to get you to fix your problem with excercise and lifestyle changes before opting for any kind of major surgery. I regard that mindset highly in a physician.

Yes I agree with all the comments about long waiting times. He's a very busy doctor. However, he's also very good at what he does, and I'm willing to wait hours if needed, to see one of the best spinal surgeons in the area. All doctors double and even tripple book appointments nowadays. Often it's not the doctors wish to do so but the network they are in. The business end of things wants to squeeze every dollar possible of clinics. It's insurance against too many cancellations and rescheduling. Dr. O'Hara have worked on my neck and lower spine with the best possible results. The nerves in my neck was so bad that I was losing use of my fingers in both hands and I had so much pain that I could barely breathe. After the fusion I was almost completely painless in that area of my body. The disc between L5 - L6 was completely gone and needed another fusion. The surgery was only somewhat successful but not due to any incompetence of Dr. O'Hara. Extenuating circumstances made… it a very difficult operation. Dr. O'Hara did the best he could. I now find myself in the position of needing another surgery and I'm going back to Dr. O'Hara no matter how long I have to wait. As for the comments about not being able to get an appointment for emergencies well, the ER are there for such.

Poor outcome from back surgery that didn't have to happen. Would not explain what had happened. No emotional support. Turned his back on me. Arrogant. Find another doctor.

Brilliant, kind, thorough, dedicated. I can't say enough about this doctor and his colleagues. They're the best.

Front office staff disorganized, overwhelmed and poorly trained. Drs demand they schedule appts every 10 minutes...as a result get very backed up and the avg wait is 45 mins. (I waited over an hour). Dr O'Hara spent less than 10 mins w/me, barely reviewing my chart. Office/waiting area is old and drab, uncomfortable chairs to sit in while you wait forever.

It's sad because I believe this an educated group of doctors, however the office staff is beyond incompetent. I was a patient a few years ago and although I received good care, the office staff at that time was very disorganized and showed no concern for your time or well being. I had to wait at every appointment and then the doctor was rushed when I did see him. Yesterday I called at 9:45 to try to get an emergency appointment to see Dr O'Hara and was told they would see if they could get me in today. By 1:30 after not hearing back, I called and explained if there was a chance I could get in today I was willing to wait but I REALLY needed to see someone today. If they couldn't get me in please just let me know and I would try to find another doctor. Again the girl said she would catch Dr O'Hara between patients and ask for him to schedule more time and she would get back to me. By 4:30 I was in so much pain and figured there was no way I would be seeing him today. Because of the late… hour I went to Urgent Care, where I was well taken care of. I fully expected to have a missed call from South Bay Ortho saying they were sorry but couldn't get me in today, but would squeeze me in tomorrow. Again they disappointed! Giving them another chance to call this morning I waited until lunch time to call and speak with the office manager who informed me they had "tried" to catch him between patients but couldn't. How does an office run when the office doesn't communicate with the doctors or the nurses? When I asked her that question she said he doesn't have a nurse, then informed me Dr O'Hara is booked two weeks out and they were trying to see if he could squeeze in some extra time on Friday. I informed her that when I spoke to both girls the day before I told them it was important I see a doctor that day. All she said was "Sorry, I'll have to speak with them". I don't care how good a doctor is, if the staff is this horrible, it's not worth it. They treat you like they have enough business they don't need yours! There are to many good doctors around to put up with a staff that inconsiderate. Don't waste your time, they surely don't value it.

South Bay Orthopaedics schedules appointments too close together. Several patients in the external waiting area had appts with the same dr. w/i 10 minutes of mine. How can this be? How can a dr see 1patient every 10 minutes, give them his time, attention and diagnosis and be done w/i 10 minutes? A few of us inquired with the front office help and were told that's how the drs insist on scheduling their appts! So by the afternoon, the dr was over 1 1/2 hrs behind schedule! Extremely rude and unprofessional. It was obvious many patients were frustrated and the front desk kept apologizing (for the drs?). Unless you want to sit and wait for an Orthopedic for a couple of hours, take your business elsewhere.
