Several years ago: Rough rectal on a then young woman told to lean over a drafting-like table while he was talking to several male medical personnel in the room.

Diagnosed with anal cancer, did chemo and radiation after 9wks of recovery and 4wks back to work I get uncontrollable diarrhea and he basically dozed off during my visit and said there was nothing that could be done to help me. So this is how my life is supposed to be? Once they treat you they don’t want to have anything else to do with you

dr. Steinhagen has operated on me several times over the years. i highly recommend him. His bedside manner is excellent and his surgical skills are the same.

Dr Steinhagen is one of the most brilliant men i have ever met. He is the most caring and compassionate doctor who knows what he is doing. He has done multiple surgeries on me and has always made me feel like i was in good hands. He visits you day and night, 7 days a week. He is completely dedicated to his patients and dedicated to their recovery. Had it not been for him i probably would have died. I am forever grateful to him. I can email him at any time of the day or night and he will respond. I truly believe this man is a god sent. I am fortunate to be healed from my surgery but that still doesnt stop me from asking him anything and getting a response.

The most nonchalant and uncaring doctor, comes in with a crew of students and observers - I'm getting my butt looked at! Forgets that there is a patient in the room. Never again! Don't get me started on those giant hands with skin issue!

Though Dr. S is decorated with many awards and glowing reviews, he has easily been one of the most uncomfortable doctors I've ever worked with. His general lack of concern, and blunt homophobia has made my recovery from a rectal surgery all the more unpleasant. His condescending attitude, and clear disinterest in my case has made this whole process even more concerning and frightening. If you are part of the LGBT community please take heed!

Dr. Steinhagen is a hero! His office staff is courteous and professional, they go above and beyond to make pts feel comfortable and ease anxiety. Dr. Steinhagen usu has long wait times at the office, but it is obviously worth it because he spends as much time as needed with each of his patients. He never rushes anyone and takes time to explain everything. His bedside manner is very down to earth and beyond caring.

I had a surgery done by him and he is the most caring doctor I have ever encountered. I am so grateful to him for everything.
