Cursory, unhelpful, and superficial. Jumped to a diagnosis in 5 minutes and barely explained it

Always careful, thorough and took the time to check in ok me as a patient. He even called me because he noticed a tiny detail on one of my forms and wanted to check in . Can not recommend enough.

Dr. Stephenson took time to get to know my health issues with companionate and intelligent manner. He could be my son's age but he earned my respect. I've been seeing one doc to another with many specialists. I wish these docs learn how Dr. S conducts himself with patients.

Exceptional caring doctor, very thorough, followed up MRI with a phone consultation, not rushed.

Dr. Stephenson was my neurologist when I was admitted to the hospital after having a tonic clonic seizure. After 3 days he called my hospital room from his office and told me that he didn't think I had a seizure disorder, regardless of what earlier EEGs had shown and regardless of the symptoms/physical behaviors I was expressing, took me off my seizure medication (again, regardless of the fact that the ER doctors, rounds doctors, and residents wanted to increase my dose) and told me I should see a psychiatrist and told me I was being discharged. When I asked if he was certain that this was an issue for a psychatrist he said absolutely not, but I do not have time to go through all the differentials with you. When I asked what to do about work for the two weeks until I could see my regular neurologist, he said, "I'm not telling you you can't go to work, but if your symptoms persist as they have been, you probably can't." I asked for an alternative solution for those two weeks, and he… said he couldn't give me one but reiterated that he would be discharging me without medication. Dr. Stephenson does not seem to know that as a doctor you are essentially a scientist - he threw out evidence that did not fit his theory, neglected to even try to come up with an explanation for what had presented, and molded the information he had to fit a theory that he liked personally but had little support. The only rationale I can see for his behavior is that he is looking for a malpractice suit. For his sake and mine I hope nothing happens that would lead to legal action.

Dr. Stephenson is new to this practice. I was a transfer patient to him from within the practice and I'm glad. He discovered I was on a wrong medicine-changed it- and immediately my calves and ankles stopped swelling. I have Parkinsons and do not always understand instructions. He always makes sure my wife understands his orders.Very impressed and pleased. Excellent bed side manners.
