Dr. Ranella Joy Hirsch, MD

I was astonished about the way my wife and I were treated at Dr. Ranella's dermatology office. In my opinion they really lack customer service skills. Since my wife has chronic acne, we had decided to look for what we thought would be a "class A" dermatologist. After doing some research, we opted for Dr. Ranella Hirsch. Given that my wife is Italian and has been living in the U.S. for less than a year, I thought it would be wise to accompany her to the appointment. When the Medical Assistant/Nurse called my wife, we both stood up and for my surprise the Assistant informed us that only my wife could enter the room to see the doctor. Stating that, "it was Dr. Ranella's policy." I tried explaining that I was actually serving as a translator, since my wife doesn't understand many words in English, let alone medical/technical terms.I then asked if they could ask the Dr. to make an exception. But they once more justified as it being their policy. I asked if they had interpreters. Well,… unfortunately they don't offer the services of an interpreter.We asked for the our money back and left.In my opinion very inflexible, unprofessional, lacking of empathy situation.I honestly don't recommend their services.
