Dr. Rao V B Sunkavally, MD

Zero stars. His web site advertises procedures he's not capable or willing to perform, presumably to cash in on the medical exam time before he sends you away. Though it could just be a neglect to bring the site up to date. Diagnostic and treatment knowledge leaves a lot to be desired. The way he follows up and responds to patient inquiries and requests (in-person too, but especially email and telephonic) is often puzzling and frustrating. This doctor does not seem to care about his practice, much less his patients, any more. I strongly suggest you stay away.

My initial visit to Dr. Sunkavalley was just to double check my prostate status after years medication elsewhere. He gave me 3 office visits until definite diagnosis on my bladder cancer. And due to this early findings I was able to remove the tumor at early stage. He has followed up my condition closely and I sincerely appreciate his meticulous care and treatment.

This Dr. has performed surgery twice on me. Once to remove my prostrate and once to remove my bladder. He has saved my life. I feel he is one great Dr.

Dr Sunkavally is an outstanding urologist who provides quality care for me. He treats with professional courtesy, conscientious and persistent. He is interested in me more than just as a patient, interacts with me, and remembers me as an individual. He is is forthright and listens to my concerns. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he gives me confidence as well as empathized with me. He is the only urologist that I have seen so I can't make comparison with other urologist but I happen to talk to one of the OR/surgery staff that he often work with and he told me that Dr Sunkavally is the best urologist that he worked with at Washington Hospital.

Dr. Sunkavally has been practicing for many years now and knows how to practice good medicine. The office staff is always pleasant and they are very responsive to my needs. I definitely feel that I am take care of after during my visits.
