Dr. Sanchez has been my girls’ pediatrician since they were new borns (now teenagers) and my favorite thing about him is that he remembers all the details about their history not only medical but personal. He takes the time to get to know them individually and us as a family and what works best for each individually and as a family. He is truly invested in their wellbeing.

I highly recommend Dr. Sanchez to any parent in need of a reliable and compassionate pediatrician. His knowledge, genuine care for children, and dedication to his profession make him beyond an exceptional choice. He always listens attentively to my concerns and answers all of my questions with patience and expertise. All of his recommendations through the years have worked and I really trust his opinion. My daughter has seen him since she was born and he’s always been supportive and an advocate for what’s best for her. She will be 18 next year and I’m so sad for her to have to find a new doctor. Thank you, Dr. Sanchez for always providing excellent care for Kenlyn.

I normally don’t write reviews but I had a very bad experience with my child and Dr. Sanchez. He had the nurses irrigate my child’s ears to remove some wax that was bothering her. My child had ear tubes at the time so I questioned if that was a wise thing to do. He answered that it was fine and I again questioned him. I asked if water would enter her inner ears and if it would be painful and he told me to “be patient my butterfly.” I was two weeks postpartum and tired and a little stressed. Two nurses came and proceeded to irrigate my child’s ears with a squirt bottle. I had never seen this done so I was not sure what to expect. I thought it would be a gentle washing of the ears. My child screamed while I stood there holding her two week old sister. I was so upset with myself for allowing them to do this, but I’m not the doctor so I trusted his judgment. I’m writing this now because I had so much guilt for years for not questioning further on behalf of my child. She spent years with… two large perforated eardrums from the water that was forced that day into her inner ears. By that night she was in so much pain we were going to drive to the emergency room. Before going that route I called the after care line and spoke with a Dr. in the practice and while on the phone one of her eardrums burst and the other followed shortly thereafter with no more pain because all the fluid had been released. I tried talking with a few of the doctors at Carither’s but none of them really gave me the time of day. This all happened when my child was four, she is now 9 and we just now got her ears fully repaired. She had surgery on them when she was 6, but the patches didn’t take so we tried again this past year with another ENT. He used fat from behind her ears to patch the holes in her eardrums (there wasn’t much eardrum left in either ear) and she now has her hearing back! We are so thankful but I am also very disappointed! Not that doctors are human and make mistakes, but the way it was handled, like it was no big deal. It caused my family a large expense and my daughters pain and hearing loss. This is such a long review but it feels good getting this off my chest to whomever will listen. I know it made me stronger as a mom to question everything when it pertains to your child and not to always trust the “experts!” I’ve been told since by several Drs, a couple ENT’s and a NP that his actions that day was not standard practice and he was negligent. Maybe Dr. Sanchez was told about his mistake by his peers in the practice and has learned from it but I don’t know. I hope he has learned from his mistake and that he is a better doctor for it but either way this whole situation should have been handled much differently. If it had been, then I’m sure I wouldn’t feel so strongly after all these years in writing such a negative review.
