Dr. Rasheed Abiola

Doesn’t respond to fax, I can do a follow up and they still won’t forward information to the person requesting more information.

After a 8 month wait dealing with the VA system and being unable to obtain a surgeon that would accept payment from the VA. We found Dr. Abiola and I must say that he is a top notch orthopedic surgeon. He is very through and takes his time with explaining all aspects of surgery and recovery, we were very blessed to find him.

2 visits, waited an hour both times despite being first patient of the day (both times). I already had an MRI, and Xrays before my first visit prescribed by my GP. I have coccyx (tailbone) pain. I have been struggling with it for over a year. In the first visit he did physically test anything except my reflexes. He gave me medicine and sent me to PT. Neither helped (not his fault). PT pinpointed pain and was able to reproduce. When I came back for the follow up he wanted another MRI. When I asked why, he said he didn't know what was wrong and wanted to rule out something further up the spine. Why aren't we talking about my tailbone? His answer: he hasn't really treated tailbone, he's only seen other doctors do it a couple times in his career...... Then why did he take my appointment....my $....my time? Less than worthless, pain continues and costs me money. He clearly tried to dazzle me with big words also about my MRI that he knew I wouldn't understand. … He struck me as an unprofessional fraud.

Very kind and considerate, he has excellent bed-side manners, will take his time explaining all aspects of the situation. He truly shows he cares, and allows patient to ask questions. He works from a therapy, medication and then last resort, surgery. Very well educated and he is willing to share that knowledge with patient.
