Dr. Rashmi Recinto, MD

Dr. Recento has been my doctor for over 20 years. I recommend her highly to anyone. Both my wife and friend have been going to her too and have been equally happy with her.

It gives me great pleasure to finally write this review. I have been dissatisfied with her as long as I’ve know her, it’s just not easy to find a family physician accepting new clients. The only good thing I have to say is that she referred me to some really great doctors. My experiences with her have been jaw dropping bad! I’m so happy to say goodbye to her.

Dr. Recinto rushed through my initial appointment and I am extremely disappointed in the care I received. I conveyed how much abdominal pain I was having, my family history of ulcers and stomach complications, and the fears I had about it. She spent less than 10 minutes with me and only prescribed me a pill, with no follow up appointment scheduled. I called back 2 weeks later to tell them how much pain I was still in, that the medicine she described had not helped. I asked to see a different doctor within the practice and her office told me that wouldn't be possible without consent from Dr. Recinto- whom I had only seen once. I requested that they ask. I received a call back from her assistant stating that Dr. Recinto wanted me to see a G.I. dr and that they had sent an order for a procedure and consultation. I called to schedule and they said they did not have any information on me. After days of trying to get this scheduled, we finally got it scheduled for May 24 - almost 6 weeks… past the initial appointment. I have continued to call Dr. Recinto's office and assistant to convey the amount of pain I am still in. Neither Dr. Recinto's office, nor the GI office would not give me the address on where the GI procedure was. I called to follow up multiple times throughout the weeks waiting on the procedure. I found a new G.I. Dr outside of the Acension system who said they would be happy to help and could help quickly due to the pain I was experiencing they just needed the referral from Dr. Recinto. I called the office again and requested that. They sent the referral for an appointment, but will not send out for the procedure. So we are on week 7 since my initial appointment. To recap Dr. Recinto spent less than 10 mins in the room with me Dr. Recinto only prescribed pills even though I requested other tests or avenues to find the cause of the pain, which she refused- even after I told her about family history Dr. Recinto didn't schedule a follow up I called her office to see another Dr. due to the pain and Dr. Recinto would not sign off on me seeing a different dr. within the practice I was not able to get into the G.I. Doc she recommended I found my own G.I. Dr. and Dr. Recinto will not send the referral for the procedure she initially sent to a dr. within the Acension group

I love Dr. Recinto. She's takes time at my visit for any additional concerns I have. Follows up with previous issues., she is friendly, and professional. As far as wait time in the office they have had several surveys in which there has been improvement.

I'm not sure what the other reviewers have experienced but I had my first visit with Dr. Recinto today. It was excellent. They got me in the same day I called to establish care, I had very little wait time, and Dr. Recinto was very friendly, professional, and spent as much time with me as I wanted. The office staff was super friendly. I'm glad I ignored the reviews I read before my appointment.

I strongly believe that doctors should care for each and every patient they have. If they are taking on too many patients, then something should be done. The couple times that I have see Dr. Recinto, I waited in the lobby 45+ minutes and then in the room 20-30 minutes before I was seen. This makes it very difficult when you are leaving work to make an appointment and are gone for 2+ hours for a 15 minute appointment. For different medical concerns that I have had in the past, she had me take numerous unneccesary tests that did not prove to be helpful in any way. There was no follow up or anything to help me with my concerns. I needed a renewal of prescription two weeks ago that my pharmacy faxed in a request for and I still do not have that request fulfilled. I have called two different times and left two different messages for Dr. Recinto or her aid and still have yet to respond to me. Very frustrating when I need the prescription. I had to get a quick appointment with IU Health so I… can get a new prescription as soon as possible. I will never go back to Dr. Recinto and I do not recommend her to anyone. Hopefully IU Health will be of more assistance to me in the future unlike St. Vincent Health.

Visits take a long time but I can't blame Dr. Recinto - I think the insurance system and scheduling are powers she can't fight . . . She was attentive, friendly and professional, willing to be a real general practitioner treating a range of issues, only referring me to a specialist when she felt there was a good reason, and while it wasn't convenient, I saw her point. I recommend her.

Office personnel and not caring or customer oriented and appear to be unorganized; Dr. Recinto's bedside manner is less than desirable- spends most of our visit with her head down making notes; doesn't respond to Express Scripts in a timely manner- they have to follow up more than once
