Dr. Rathel Linwood Nolan, MD

At 62 years old, I had struggled with respiratory illnesses, hospitalizations and feeling bad all my life. After being treated by asthma & allergy & pulmonology I was sent to Dr. Nolan for assessment. Upon entering the exam room and looking at me, he said "you look like someone with cystic fibrosis to me." I was floored! No one ever mentioned CF before this day. I was sent for a sweat test and the diagnosis was confirmed. I would recommend Dr. Nolan to every person who has lingering infections without long-term resolution.

I was referred to Dr. Nolan by my neurologist after a spinal tap she had done tested positive for Lyme disease. I was relieved to finally have a name to the disease that was causing so many symptoms and making my life miserable. I filled out a five page packet mailed to me by Dr. Nolan’s staff and looked forward to my appointment. When Dr. Nolan entered the room, he sat down in a chair and preceded to tell me and my husband that Lyme disease does not exist in Mississippi. He further stated that my spinal tap must somehow be inaccurate and that my neurologist should not be testing for Lyme anyway. I told him that if he would look at the information I filled out he would see that I have traveled to many states as well as Canada. He just stated that it was highly unlikely I had Lyme.He did not exam me. He never got up from the chair. I left feeling defeated and confused. I cried all the way to the car. Luckily I found a doctor who is informed and educated and believes in the existence of… Lyme in Mississippi. My doctor said there was no better proof of my Lyme disease than my spinal tap results. They are more accurate than the blood tests. If you have Lyme, don’t waste your time or money seeing Rathel Nolan.
