Dr. Ratul Raychaudhuri, MD

This doctor unfortunately was very cold and unapproachable. It appears he is only willing to help you and discuss treatment options with you if it is something he personally specializes in, if not he dumps you onto somebody else. His doctors office also provided me with test records documenting a medical finding that was not discussed during our appointment and when I called the office to address it the PA stated that it was a "typo" and shouldn't have been in my records. This is something I feel like shouldn't happen within patient medical documentation. Everything pertaining to this doctor and his office was very unprofessional. I suggest exploring other options for you neurosurgical needs.

Dr. Raychaudhuri just did my back surgery, and I now feel great. I had a cage put in my lower back. Lumbar S1 L5, and I can finally move properly again. I highly recommend him to all my family and friends.

I would have to say Dr Raychaudhuri is a capable surgeon. In my opinion he is young and worried about the pressure being put on Drs about the opioid epidemic going on. Before my surgery my family Dr had me on fentnyl patches because the pain was unbearable. He kept me on them right up until my surgery and told me the surgeon would take over my pain control after surgery. Well after the surgery he gave me percosets and a low dose of morphine if I asked for it. That amount of pain meds didn’t even equal what I was on before surgery. The whole time I was in the hospital I told the staff my pain was severe. I was never given enough pain meds to handle the pain. When I was discharged the incision over my spine was still bleeding pretty heavy. I was discharged after 2 days with a prescription of percosets enough to last when taken as prescribed would last one week. He gave me a much weaker medicine than I was on pre spine surgery and it was enough to last one week. One week of weak pain… meds after spine surgery that he knew himself may or may not relieve the pain I was and still am in pain a week and a half later. What’s worse is when I called into the office to get a refill they told me he would call it in. He never did. He didn’t even have The decency to call me to tell me why he wouldn’t call it in. I believe he is a capable surgeon. If you get him to operate on you you better make sure you have enough pain medicine at home to cover your recovery. Don’t expect him to manage your pain. He simply won’t do it. So if you get him. Good luck. A little background on me. I fell 42 ft from a tree 10 years ago and shattered vertebrae in my spine and shattered my left leg. I have a lot of metal holding me together and have dealt with pain ever since. I was a cop before I fell and was forced to retire early. As a cop I am well aware of the opiate problem. I didn’t expect to be treated like a heroine addict by my Dr though. I have noticed that if your a person who deals with chronic pain that’s how you are treated by most of the medical staff you will deal with. God forbid if you ask for pain meds or tell them what they gave you isn’t strong enough to relieve the pain. Good luck to any of you deal with these same issues.

Dr. Ray is a wonderful surgeon. He took the time to explain what was to take place> he answered all my questions and put my mind at ease.
