Dr. Raul Alberto Hernandez JR., MD

As a family, we have had horrible experiences with this person. He is a narcissist and bully with little compassion for patient care. It’s sad because there are few options for 2nd opinions in this rural community. Fortunately, we were able to get better care out of town and several medicines were removed from our Rx list. Our new Doctors questioned why a Doctor would prescribe these unnecessary drugs/ medications! Many drugs caused other additional issues that could have been prevented. How this man is still in practice deserves a deeper dive for the benefit of folks living in this community. If you, or a family member are able to find medical care other than this man, please do try to engage someone else.

Great doc but an absolute nutcase. Bedside manners are terrible. He came up to visit my mom one day in the hospital. He was dripping with sweat and had obviously just come from the gym. I can’t imagine who else would do that.

Well, over 20 years ago I went to ER thought I was having a stroke turns out I had Bell’s palsy at time I just moved back from out of state no family Dr so he said he would be my Dr I said ok ! I should of knew then when he said , you will do has I say or your out and can find another dr but being 26 I was like ok, I got down to only seeing him once a year blood pressure stable and good and if I ever had came down with a sinus infection or something I sucked it up because he made me so nervous, I was afraid he would say something rude to me because I had heard him say hurtful things to other patients and staff ! Then my dad had to go to him because of kidneys , and he took over all his care diabetes included long story short he dropped the ball, and his nurse was suppose to be checking his leg because we kept telling him it’s black it hurts him he cry’s he was to the point he wanted to stop dialysis but he went , one day I had to carry him to car for foot dr / wound care app we get… there he gets Hernandez there they tell me I need to take him straight to Columbus he don’t have a pulse gonna have to probably cut his leg off at this point , I’m trying to keep it together thinking I’m in Dr office why are you not calling a ambulance to hAve him life flighted , nope was my job to get him there so getting to point my dad had to be transferred from riverside to zanesville To hospice to pass away from gangrene ! So who dropped the ball my dad only weighed like 150 when he passed away , The Dr nurse has god complex too and the girl that answers the phone omg I could punched her in face . Long story I know but my last appointment I went in I finally was telling him about my side back to hurting again I had diverticulitis he yelled said it’s not that you know if you keep say that your gonna get a colostomy bag and I instantly shut down he said so what do you want me to do ( mean & hAteful ) I said absolutely nothing he said I don’t want to see you again until you schedule s gastric bypass surgery then he found out my insurance changed he said I don’t want to see you at all we don’t take your insurance !! He kept rolling on his chAir opening door getting louder so every single person in office and waiting area could hear him when he was done he walked out of room didn’t say thanks for 20 plus years kiss my butt or anything , I walked out of room went straight to my car and dared to get a bill .. I did not !!! But I heard he retired now so that’s a good thing ! Bed side manner was never a strong suit and s few office personnel thought it was ok to speak to people that way to. !

This man is the only reason my son is still alive today. He took the time to uncover some very disturbing medical issues in my 20 year old son and he stayed at his bedside during hours most doctors would have been at home. The dedication he shows to his patients is remarkable

I read that Title in someone else's review on Google and felt it very befitting for Dr. Hernandez. He is the most rude, vulgar, profane uncaring louse I have ever met. I think he watches too many episodes of "Scrubs" Hernandez is no Doctor Cox and doesn't deserve any special type of lip service to his posterior side. Dr. Hernandez does need to improve his beside manner and treatment of patients. He is cruel and insensitive to the needs of the people. There is a special place in Hades for people like him.

Dr. Hernandez has been taking care of my uncle for over twenty plus years. He has been with him before, during, and after his kidney transplant. His honesty is very important and valued when dealing with and confronting serious health issues. He depends on Dr. Hernandez and values his opinion greatly. It is comforting knowing that my uncle is in good hands with such an outstanding physician. He is always there to answer his questions and help him through his many many hospital visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Hernandez.

Dr. Hernandez has saved my life more than once as he has done for countless others. If you want a Dr. who knows what he's doing when it counts he is the one for you. He can be gruff if you don't follow his advice for your heath but it's for your own good.
