Dr. Raul Vela III, MD

Dr. Vela seemed to be good when I first came in, but then after he looked at one of my abnormal skin growths, he told me that they wanted to, "remove it a different way," besides freezing. Next thing I know they were numbing my foot and cutting out the growth. They ended up sending the remains out for a biopsy, and I ended up in excruciating pain and on crutches for a whole week. I had to go to the emergency med clinic to make sure it wasn't infected and they informed me that my body probably just had an adverse reaction to the surgery. I ended up going back a week or so later and Dr. Vela told me that it looked to be healing perfectly and that I shouldn't have to come back. Well, sure enough the growth grew back and when I returned to the office, he only THEN told me that the biopsy specifically said that it would most likely grow back because he did not remove it completely. They then sent me to a plastic surgeon to redo the surgery. Why wasn't I sent to a plastic surgeon first if… the growth was, "in such a bad place," and is hard to remove? I have to endure that pain all over again? Overall, definitely hides information and rushes everything. I am very unsatisfied.

I have been a patient for nearly 25 years, Dr. Vela always takes the time to explain the condition and treatment thoroughly so that there are no misconceptions. I did try another Dr. closer to my home but wasn't pleased, It definitely is worth the drive.

Dr. R. Vela has been my dermatologist for several years. Not only is he an excellent dermatologist, in my opinion, but extremely efficient-my scheduled appointments have been on-time- and I enjoy dealing with him. I am retired from the medical profession.

Dr. Vela helped treat my 1 yr old son for his eczema. He was kind, friendly, and accurate on his diagnosis and within a week it healed up. We tried everything and seen many pediatricians. I couldn't be anymore happier. :-)

Ignorant and headstrong. Diagnosed my scabies and later wrote off my allergeic reaction as psoriasis. Completely false. Very, very ignorant dr.

a true gentleman, caring and excellent in his field. I highly recommend him to anyone. No waiting time - unheard of in the medical field.

How do you say this nicely. I had moles. They needed burned off. I was recommended to him by friend who has skin cancer, said he does good work. He burned 6 moles, including 2 big ones, off. I have had 2 burned off years ago by another doctor, that was a bad experience. Dr. Vela good, steady hand, they healed nice, including 2 on my face. I will go back to have 1 more burned off later on. I like him

Dr. Vela was inpatient and short with patient. He acted like he didnt speak Spanish and was very rude and told us to seek anther doctor. He didnt explain the patient's symptoms and acted like it was nothing. I could go on forever on this particular visit but just want to make the point, do not waste your time or money.
