Dr. Ravi P Gupta, MD

First and foremost, I am an Air Force and Marine Corps Veteran during Desert Shield and Desert Storm that served honorably. I usually never complain about anything, however, I believe the people have the right to know what they will be dealing with, if you happen to choose Ravi Gupta, M.D., as your primary care physician. In April 2023, I was given an email to link into a facetime call with the doctor. Unfortunately, that call failed epically several times, until the conversation changed over to a phone call. Nevertheless, I was frustrated and decided that I would prefer to cease all forecasted appointments and no longer have any dealings with Ravi Gupta, M.D. and staff at Mid-Florida Primary Care in Leesburg, Florida. Several days passed and the heart medication that I was approved and refilled automatically was then denied and ceased. If I was not to receive my heart medication, it could result in a stroke or heart attack. I contacted their office, It was confirmed that he had… canceled my heart pills and that I will need to find another way to getting them, unless I were to come in to do a follow-up, which was not needed, since I already had the ‘follow-up’ prior to the failings of the situation of the facetime meet. I found that quite odd and agitating to have a doctor to assist a patient to have heart failure or a stroke. It’s menacing and unethical and immoral to say the least. I believe that the people that is considering seeing this doctor to be aware of what the consequences will be if you take away from his capital gain. For him, he sees you as a number or as currency. At any rate, their office filed collections against me for $25. Let the record reflect that there were a couple of instances where I had a forecast appointment for a procedure to have done and the doctor canceled on me on the same day at the same moment as I was driving into their location in Leesburg, Florida. He canceled the appointment for no reason and never rescheduled for me to have the procedure done. I never asked for credit placed for the doctor’s cancellation. My time is just as important and valuable. I believe that your time would also be, if ever you may be in my situation. I've been a patient here for 7 years! Like the doctor, like the staff, they are all top notch! A special shout out to Irene and heather; they always make things easier! I've referred others to this practice!

I have to say that I truly love this office. The providers are very knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. The nurses are very efficient and have warming personalities. The front staff is usually the first and last faces I get to see and they are always smiling and are very welcoming. The office is ran efficiently, professionally and the fact that they are never turning anyone away just speaks volumes. If you are looking for an amazing doctors office that offer many medical services and exceptional friendly and professional manner then you should check out Mid Florida Primary Care.

The staff is very rude and all they care about is how much they can bill the insurance company for. You wait 2 or more hours to be seen even though you have an appointment

The absolute worst doctor. It’s all money there isn’t patient care. My fathers cardiologist refuses to see him as a patient any more with Gupta as a primary physician because cardio can’t do his job properly because Gupta wants it all in house. He is not a specialist. My father blew a vocal chord and requested continually to be referred to a specialty dr and dr Gupta repeatedly dismissed him and said it’s just allergies. He went three months with a blown vocal chord. He then had a stroke. He hasn’t been coherent for months, he has to type out his thought on a phone. Still dr Gupta doesn’t think he needs speech therapy because he doesn’t get paid for that: multiple other doctors and now two hospitals have told me Gupta is ridiculous and to get a new doctor. He is apparently well known for this and overbooking his appointments. If your appointment is at 1 expect to be seen between 4 and 5.

The staff is mostly friendly except for the billing people. If you have a question, they always seem miffed that you questioned their process. And it takes FOREVER for them to bill for appointments. The doctor and PA's are awesome though. They could be a little more prompt on appointments, always takes so long to get blood tests, but at least they are good at it.

Doctor Feel Good

I had to leave two internists due to them no longer taking my i surance. I am a retired trauma surgeon and Psychologist. Floridas medical care is abysmal. The laws combined with the inepptitide of the Drs. Makes it so. Dr. Guptas office is too busy to get scripts and referals correct. Not an uncommon practice in Florida. He also is very quick to refer and not take on things he both legally and competently should be abble to handle. He wants continually followups at your expense which are not needed. I am advising you to be careful with Dr. Gupta who seems more intested in money than health care.

Dr. Gupta was our family physician. He wanted to be more your friend than your Dr. Wants to do everything himself. Against using chosen specialists. My daughter was having very bad leg cramps. He prescribed so much medication to a 17yr old girl that she was unable to function. Slept all the time. The pharmacist went out on a limb and told be to be careful. If she was his daughter he would never give her that much medication at one time. This may have saved her life. I brought her to an orthopedic specialist that checked the pulse in her legs which was weak. He said it was not his specialty but he said I should ask Dr. Gupta to recommend a vascular specialist. He wouldn't for fear of upsetting Dr. Gupta. I brought her back to Dr. Gupta and told his this. He acted like he was checking her pulse in her legs through her jeans....Really? At least pretend. And said that was not an issue and prescribed yet another medication to go along with all the rest. We fired Dr. Gupta and found a new Dr… and a vascular surgeon to check her veins. Although even they did not expect to finds such issues in a 17 year old girl she had extremely large veins that were pooling blood and causing terrible cramping and pain in her legs. Laser surgery fixed her legs. No amount of overdosing medication would have ever helped her. Dr. Gupta was insulted that I would seek another opinion. IF you are a good physician you encourage 2nd opinions and not harm your ego. We had similar experiences with our whole family, but none to the degree that at that time he would have endangered our lives. I am so thankful I got my daughter our from under his care when I did. Now she lives a healthy and happy life.

Will never go back, doctor and staff do not listen. very disorganized. Totally uncaring. The very wost doctors visit I ever had.
