We were brought to his ER after severe bleeding when my water broke at home. We, along with the EMTs, tried to explain the amount of blood at the house, but he kept brushing us off. Told me I was not dilated and simply in labor. He then told my in-laws to go home as I was not having a baby any time soon. He arranged for a priority 3 transfer (lowest) to the hospital I would be delivering at and told us we could not leave on our own before then. So we waited 45 minutes for another ambulance to come from 20 minutes away, only to bring us another 20 minutes away. When I got to labor and delivery and finally put on a fetal monitor, I was immediately surrounded by medical professionals and being wheeled into the OR. My son was born 2 hours after we first reached Dr. Channappa via emergency c-section. He died in our arms 3 hours later due to oxygen deprivation. My placenta had detached too soon, causing all the blood at home. He had been losing oxygen the entire time we sat without care at… Clinton Hospital.
