I had a spinal cord stimular trial, his bedside manners are horrible, does not listen to his patients when surgery is going on telling him the trial is not put into the right spot, and also I cried and he told me there was no need to cry this could not be hurting you and it was hurting so horrible . I would not go back to him even though I can't hardly walk, I am looking for a new doctor he spent 8 minutes to do my surgery and did not listen at all

After discussing my diagnosis with me and recommending an epidural steroid injection, I have the ability to move again (pain free). Dr. Vedantam is very good and if you have a back problem, he is the guy to see.

My husband had to have several discs removed, pretty quickly, and fusion via titanium rods 4 years ago due to nerve impingement on lower extremities. His family wanted him to go to the east coast, where they were. But Dr. Vedantam immediately impressed us with his patience, manner, and forthrightness about what to expect, along with his confidence. And he delivered! My husband suffered (as expected and promised) after the 7 hour surgery, but his back has been fine since, and we couldn't have been happier with a surgeon from Johns Hopkins. His staff was great, too.

Saw Dr. Vedantam about persistent lower back pain. After 3 weeks of therapy things were the same. An MRI revealed a severely herniated lower disc, and surgery was scheduled. I got up to walk later on the day of the surgery and noted my back/leg pain was gone. I am able to walk pain free now thanks to the micro discectomy surgery. Dr. Vedantam is a great Doctor who takes time to explain all options for you, and he gave me my life back.

I met with this doctor about bone spurs and arthritis in my neck. I was never so confused in my life about a diagnosis. First thing he did was insult his nurse...I was told the main problem is that I am over 50 and everyone my age has this problem....I felt totally confused when he told me to just eReid xercise when clearly we could see bone spurs on the mri. I was even more amazed when he kept telling me to relax and just do not use voodoo...If this is the best Reid has to offer I won't be going back !!!

Would not recommend this doctor to anyone! My husband went to the ER with back pain and after being in the hospital a couple of days, surgery was done - supposed to be able to go home the next day. After 2-3 days, developed a terrible infection in incision along with headaches. Another surgery performed leaving an incision of about a foot long. This doctor denied saying things to us that he said; said he told us things that he did not and was generally evasive about the whole problem (have witnesses); bedside manner was rough to the point of pulling out the IV. Back problem continues and we'll seek another surgeon.

I was diagnosed with a Lumbar herniated disk earlier this year. Dr. Vedantam laid out the three courses of treatment I could go with, gave me the positive and negatives of all three. He was patient with me and answered all of my questions (some before I thought of them). He is an excellent surgeon and when I had a micro disectomy everything went as planned. He is a man I feel I can put my trust in.
