Dr. Ray S Davis, MD

We have been seeing Dr. Davis since my son (now 14) was 2 1/2. We were "warned" by the friend who referred us that Dr. Davis was very direct and would likely scare us at first but that after that initial visit it would be better. The statement was spot on. We were made to feel like incompetent parents since we had no clue what we were doing with his asthma and allergies. But we walked out with a so much more knowledge and a clear action plan. Once my ego recovered, I have felt fortunate to have my son under his care. I once ran into Dr. Davis at the airport in Dallas and not only did he recognize me, but he came up to me, asked about my son (by name) and had a 10 minute conversation about him. Three years ago we were back to see him with my daughter who had developed a shellfish allergy. It was a horrible experience and had I not witnessed another side of him multiple times, I would have walked out mid-appointment. Totally understand and agree with all of the other… comments here - I've seen the brilliance and the brashness. Bottom line is my son is healthier and more active than he's ever been - not looking for my new BFF in a doctor; we will continue to see Dr. Davis.

Dr. Davis is awesome. He can be a bit brash, but I prefer honesty over things being sugarcoated when it comes to the health of my child. Our first visit was around two hours long going over patient and family history, as well as environmental influences. He spend almost the entire time in the room with us, even checking back several times while my son had his allergy test. I feel Dr. Davis diagnosis answers a lot of questions (as does our Primary Care Doctor). I left with a written diagnosis and treatment plan as well as informational literature to take home. We are so happy we found Dr. Davis.

Never even made an appointment because the receptionist was so rude. Called to make an appt for my daughter after we were refered to him by our pediatrician. I have never spoken to a more rude receptionist in my life! She acted like she was doing me a favor by even talking to me. She was very short and seems like from other reviews matches the personality of the Dr. Won't be visioning this office.

Very proactive. He took the time to explain everything (epi pens, asthma treatment plan...) for my sons treatment. Very happy we found him.

I have never gone out of my way to write a review but this guy was a piece of work. He may be good at what he does but as much money as it costs to see a specialist out of pocket I expect both. Especially when dealing with pediatric patients. He was not only rude to us but also to our 3 year old and had no patience with her at all. Disappointed.

My son was referred to Dr. Davis when he was just shy of 2 years old after numerous visits to the hospital with asthma attacks and respiratory viruses the first two years of his life. He was born premature and has had a lot of health complications, but now that we see Dr. Davis I am proud to say it has been almost two years since my son has seen the inside of an ER or been hospitalized for his asthma. Dr. Davis is a wealth of knowledge and educates his patients about prevention and proper use of medications when diagnosing a patient and at follow-up visits. Couldn't ask for a better doctor!

Worst doctor ever!! Very rude!! Not a people person at all! Would never recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Davis has been treating my son since 2007 for food allergies and asthma. I highly recommend him. He is a superb professional, highly knowledgeable, and very proactive. He gets right to the point and doesn't beat around the bush. You leave his office knowing exactly what to do and what his plans are for treatment in the future. He returns calls promptly and always has test results quickly. I am so glad our primary physician referred us to him. He literally saved my son's life when others turned us away.

Dr. Davis is amazing - my son loves him; my niece has been seeing him for 20 years. he is willing to be proactive and try to ward off symptoms, rather than wait til they get unmanageable. That is key w/ the allergist!!

We love Dr. Davis and were not surprised when he was voted BEST DOCTOR in the St. Louis magazine. He has such great bedside manner and my child loves to go back for his follow up visits. Maybe it's because he does this magic trick with a penny. His office staff have always been very friendly!
