Dr. Ray E Stedwell, MD

Not comfortable with the dx I received. Will have to follow up due to this with an outside DR.

My experience with this doctor was perhaps the worst ER experience of my 50 yr old life. To start with Dr. Stedwell was overheard talking with a nurse about the patient that had just come in. (myself) The nurse explained that the patient was a 50 yr old male with chronic vomiting and severe abdominal pain The Patient had explained he suffered from Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS)for the last 16 years. When hearing this Dr.Stedwell pushed back from the desk in a chair and stated that this syndrome didn't exist and all I wanted was narcotics and he wasn't going to be played.(this was at 3 a.m. on Christmas morning) NOTE: this conversation took place before the Dr. had met and talked with myself or my wife. I had an information pack that I carry around explaining my condition and how to treat it. He refused to look at the packet, he refused to talk with my wife about it, and walked out of the room leaving me hanging in the middle of the discussion and then had the gall to threaten my wife… with the security guard.I couldn't leave - was too sick and in too much pain.I was in renal failure and there was kidney damage. But Dr.Stedwell refused me any pain medication aside from a Tylenol. Three Hours later still vomiting and in severe pain, I was admitted into the hospital and the good Dr. Knight took over. He immediately ordered pain and nausea medication and the next hour saw my pain/nausea/symptoms level drop from a 7 to a 1.Stay clear of this fool.
