Dr. Ray Bauer Vaughters, MD

I very rarely have a long wait. Doctors are very nice. They are great listeners and answer all my questions. They draw my blood onsite and do an awesome job. I live in Lexington but drive to Aiken as I trust the doctors!

After the complete disregard for patients and disrespect from the staff I am finding a new doctor

I have never been a patient of Dr Vaughters , even though I have requested an appointment on numerous occasions and sent a referral and my labs as directed by the very rude woman who answers the phone I explained that I needed to be seen for a recently diagnosed endocrine problem and I was told that I was “on the spreadsheet “ and they would “get to me” After several weeks, no one called. There are several problems here. First is the complete lack of concern for the patient. Second is the lack of respect for the referring physician. Third is the appalling treatment one receives from the nasty woman who is the gatekeeper for this practice. I am a retired nurse practitioner and I have never seen or experienced such utter disdain for the health of the community.

From the moment I entered the doors I kind of had a time trying to figure out where to go, but everyone was so nice. I've seen Dr Vaughters several times. Each time I felt he was thorough in examination he did a sonogram of my thyroid and took time to explain thoroughly and answer questions I had. His staff attended to my needs and my wait time was pretty reasonable.The lab work was a bit rough because they couldn’t find a vein and had to stick me quite a few times but eventually got it. He also took time to go over some other issues I had at the time and even helped out with them, he said that is all in the line of work he does. I am actually excited and I am looking forward to my next visit...

Staff is rude except to their favorites. Never return calls. Misplace labs. Complete mess.

Fantastic staff and PA's and Dr. Vaughters. He talks to you so kindly, answers all your questions, and treats you with the upmost respect. In fact the entire office does. The lady that takes me back to the scale gets the biggest kick out of me. I pretend to cry, then all the sudden she'll say, "wait you lost some wait" and I will do my "Elaine from Seinfeld" happy dance. She just laughs and tells me that I made her day. So I don't understand all these negative reviews. I think that possibly the staff member reacted to your attitudes. I worked for 30 year as an office manager in Dentistry and I never showed a bad attitude unless someone kept chipping away at me then I would bite back. And they have the nerve to write a bad review, when the started the whole scene. You should have respect for the staff, their jobs are not exactly cushy and easy. Dr. Vaughters has a great staff. Treat them with respect, and you will get treated with respect. And if you ever don't understand… what one of the PA's or the doctor himself is talking about? Just ask them to dumb it down to patient speak. Just simple ways to have a good experience with a great office.

Nurse Jennifer on phone to me today said... After I told her how nervous I am about the Biopsy procedure and was asking some questions, she rudely said "You don't have to get this biopsy done if You don't want it" I Never said I wasn't getting it, and how would I know of cancer? So Uncalled for and now I am Leerie of this office. Will speak with the Doctor Monday for all my concerns!

Have tried this Physician two tries many years apart. Dr. Vaughters is an excellent Endocrinologist - WHEN YOU CAN SEE HIM! He needs more dedication to his patients, not speaking engagements everywhere. I requested to see only the physician, not the PA who I understand does great with Diabetes (I am not a diabetic patient). Two out of 3 of my visits were scheduled with the PA, which I only learned about upon arrival. On the second visit with PA , there was a knock on the door by a staff member stating the PA had a phone call from Dr. V. After asking her to get some clarification from him on the several issues she had no answers for, she stated that he really was not on the phone....that was their way of letting her know it was time to go home! I promise! Color me done - for the last time!

Showed genuine concern about my medical issue! One of the best experiences I have had with an MD.
