Dr. Raymond Jay Alderfer, MD

Dr. Alderfer is awesome, he cares for his patients. Jeannie one of the office is so very sweet an kind and she knows her stuff.

He always takes an interest in my symptoms. He’s not out to use you as a science project or a guinea pig. He always takes your personal preferences about being medicated into account and works with you. I highly recommend Dr Aldefer and hope I never have to see a different psychiatrist.

He is not out to over drug you. He listens closely and carefully to your symptoms and your wishes when it comes to be medicated. He is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had. I highly recommend him

I have had several psychiatrists to treat my bipolar disorder, ADHD, and severe stress disorder and Anxiety Attacks. But Dr. Alderfer has handled them very effectively. Many people think you go to a psychiatrist to talk about your problems but that is not true. You go to a psychiatrist to explain what type of symptoms of behavior you are having and they choose the most affective course of treatment whether that is counseling. medication or both. Their skill is in choosing the most effective medication. That is what my Doctor, Dr. Alderfer is very skilled at.

When I first met Dr. Alderfer, I thought he was smug. I thought he really didn't care about people and I wondered why did he even did go into psychiatric work. The reason you may feel this way is because he is a person who doesn't beat around the bush. He likes to get to the point. He likes to be very direct which with some people can be off putting. Like for example, he will take your weight at his visits and will tell you that you need to lose weight and suggest ways you can do that. But if you stay with him, you will realize, that Dr. Alderfer really cares about people. While some psychiatrist have decided to stop taking insurance and Medicare and getting a premium rate. Dr. Alderfer still takes insurance and Medicare so people can still afford a top notch psychiatrist. While some people believe a psychiatrist is someone you go to to talk about your problems that is not the case. That is what a psychologist or a counselor is for. A psychiatrist is someone you go to to tell your… behavioral symptoms and then he or she recommends the best course of care whether it be counseling, medication or both. The main job of a psychiatrist is to pick out the most effective medication for your symptoms by the data he or she has in front of him or her like weight, gender, and bloodwork for examples. Dr. Alderfer is very skilled at this and over the years I have found that even though it can be hard to see it, I can tell he cares very much about his patients. ????

I have been going to Dr Alderfer for over 10 years he has helped me so much to get me on right medications to keep my mind where it needs to be. I respect him very much

He has helped me so much, and is the best psychiatrist I have had (about the 5th. psychiatrist). He asks all the right questions for my conditions, to see if I am beginning to have symptoms that would need more medication or a change in medications. I really recommend him!

The first couple visits I didn't care for Dr Aldefer. He was all business with not much bedside manner. The more I went to him he seemed to loosen up and became friendlier. He has really tried to get me on the correct meds and seems to care about me. I would recommend him to a friend. Just give him a little time to get to know you. I do think he is a good Dr.
