Dr. Raymond William Bunch, MD

In my opinion, he is a good Psychiatrist. He uses all aspects in his diagnosis and is very accurate when diagnosing a child. He is prompt and listens and takes notes. He works with the parents to assist them in providing the best for children and meeting the goals of the parents.

Dr. R. Bunch is very caring towards my son's concerns and I appreciate that.

Dr. Bunch just wanted to medicate my child instead of getting to the bottom of the problem.

If you have any love for your child, which I assume you do if you're seeking a psychiatrist, look elsewhere. He makes snap decisions based on a few basic questions that effect the entire family. These questions if asked by myself to a person on the street would give me no insight to who you are or what your mental state is. His biggest concern seems to be covering his own butt, no matter the cost to the patient he's "treating". He's admitted himself that it's not his job to get into the "meat" of my child's issues - he makes snap decisions. When asked to bring in a psychologist to talk to my daughter, he wasn't even able to keep the balls up in the air and make it happen. Now to add insult to injury - when my husband and I disagreed with his snap recommendation - knowing our daughter the way we do and what she would get the most benefit from and making arrangements to have it all in play when she got home - he opted to call CPS and say we were neglecting our daughter by not… following his recommendation. We are now in the middle of trying to get custody back from CPS and get our child the help she genuinely needs from someone capable of helping her. If you need a psychiatrist - my suggestion is keep looking - this man is not anywhere near your answer. And to further making matters worse, his "social workers" at PCH seem to be his minions - if you question them or don't agree, you're in trouble.... Save yourself and your child from the whole ordeal, there is real help out there - don't settle, love your child more than just enough to let this quack take a whack at them.

Seeing this doctor was a complete waste of time and made me angry. He had a ridiculous facial expression throughout our appointment, and our child wasn't even acknowledged. Are you sure this guy actually went to medical school? After months of waiting for this appointment, he didn't even refer to our several pages of description.......and seemed out-of-it. We got NO help whatsoever. Is this the best that PCH has to offer? Shame on them. Get rid of this guy. He's less than useless.

I was very let down with this doctor. He confused my daughter with someone else when reading someone else's file. He took a phone call during my short session time. I thought he seemed foolish and unprofessional. Can't believe that they have not caught on to this yet at the hospital. I feel for others who are under his care. Yikes.

My son has been seeing Dr Bunch for over 5 years now and I am very impressed by his work. He knows my son and knows how to deal with him. I do not appreciate people bad mouthing Dr Bunch as he is a great doctor!!! My son is growing up to be a strong young man and if it wasnt for the meetings with Dr Bunch I dont think we could have survived. People will have their opinions but you do not really know who is lieing and who is truthful until you try things out for yourself. Dr Bunch is a compassionate doctor and I recommend him to anyone in need of a Child Psych.

Very disappointed

I am very pleased to use Dr. Bunch and the staff at the children's psychiatric center at Phoenix Children's hospital. Dr. Bunch really focuses on my son when we are there. He is very good about being honest with him about his medication, the expectations at school, etc. If my son even begins to not answer in a respectful manner, Dr. Bunch makes him start again (before I have to!!). I really enjoy and recommend Dr. Bunch.

I thought he was a good doctor when my child was inpatient but when i saw him outpatient he didn't seem to care and would talk down to me and he put my son on medication that the pharmacist refused to fill because they said it was dangerous and not fda approved for my child's age.
