Meet the Doctor
Igrew up on my family’s dairy farm acquiring my core values of honesty, respect and hard work.
I graduated from Michigan State University. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and completed my Orthodontic residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.  I am committed to continuing orthodontic education lecturing at the graduate orthodontic level in the U.S. and abroad. I have authored scientific articles published in orthodontic journals and have served as a contributing editor to the American Journal of Orthodontics.  I am especially proud of my contributions advancing the field of orthodontics including my inventions and U.S. patents.
I have enjoyed running, windsurfing, growing orchids, hiking, bird watching, voice lessons, and meditation.  With the possible exception of playing Euchre, I can’t think of anything that doesn’t interest me.  But more than anything else, my work has been the cornerstone of my life.  In a recent conversation with my 87 …year- old uncle, George Fogle, a dairy farmer from Okemos, Michigan, he described driving the farm tractor and planting 40 acres of corn this spring.  With tears in his eyes he told me how important it was to him to still be able to work and contribute, illustrating the most important lesson of my upbringing:  Your work and your word is your worth.
My staff and I know that we do our best work when we serve our patients in an open, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.  Our commitment to our patients, their families and to each other is summarized by a sentence taken from my morning practice of meditation: “I am grateful for the gift of the children I serve with loving kindness, compassion and respect”.
