Dr. Raymond Wuyang Hsia, MD

Right when walking in the room this doctor automatically diagnosed me with having IBS, without running any other test to see if it was something else. Highly unprofessional. I spoke with other doctors from kaiser and they suggested to go to gastroenterology to help me figure out what’s wrong because they said they would run testing before labeling someone with IBS. I nearly died because of this doctor .

Dr. Hsia helped me figure out the cause of my GI issues and allowed me to help guide my care. He let me decide whether or not I wanted a colonoscopy, because there wasn’t an imminent indication for one, and when I decided to go ahead and do it he supported me in the decision. He then explained my subsequent diagnosis to me and took a lot of time to answer questions and describe the course of the disease and treatment options. When I do my routine lab work, he always follows up and reviews the results even when they’re not abnormal. He also replies quickly to messages.

Dr. Hsia is a very arrogant doctor. I went to his clinic for requesting an endoscopy to rule out esophageal cancer. He rejected me, but he wrote down on the patient notice that he offered me the exam, but I was the person who were willing to held it off. It was not true statement. I switched my medical insurance, my doctor at Virginia Mason immediately gave me endoscopy, and fellow-up to repeat the exam since my esophagitis became worse . I feel regret that I should not pick him up as my doctor before.

After discounting my symptoms, Dr. Hsia gave me an incorrect diagnosis -- a fact later proved by other doctors. He's arrogant and not a good listener. I wouldn't use him again.

Continued with procedure even after patient complained of pain. Didn't give more sedation until procedure ended. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR...unless you like being in pain and treated like a number on an assembly line.
