Dr. Raymond Thertulien

He was always there for us. Our daughter, Wendy Pumphrey, had the best of care and it was always with a smile. His personality is infectious and that makes such a difference. We will always be indebted to him for his care of her.

I have been battling cancer for over 5 years and Dr. T has been with me 3 of them. He is the reason I'm still alive when others told me I wouldn't be. When surgeons refused to operate because they didnt think it was worth it, he fought for me. He's always got a smile and hug for me. He is funny and sometimes a little stubborn but I know hes always got my best interest at heart. Everyone at the cancer center at Park Ridge is wonderful. I love the nurses. I highly recommend all of them.

NEVER HAVE I EXPERIENCED THE CONCERN, GENUINE CARE, AND SERVICE IN ANY DOCTOR. DR. T HAS RECOMMENDED POSSIBLE OPTIONS FOR OTHER AREAS OF CONCERN WHICH HAVE MANIFESTED THEMSELVES WHILE TREATING MY INITIAL REFERRAL PROBLEM.

When I first met Dr. Thertulien several years ago, I thought he was quite knowledgeable and engaged. At the time, I just needed him to assess a blood disorder. Three years later when I had a more serious problem and had been hospitalized, I changed my opinion. He was reading my medical records "on the fly" and was clearly poorly prepared for my meeting with him. My questions and concerns were totally dismissed. I had to ask myself if I'd ever feel comfortable again talking to him if another problem occurred. The answer was "no". I was able to quickly secure another hematologist and I feel much more confident that my medical needs will be met.

He told my husband he had aggressive cancer and without treatment would have 4-5 months to live and with treatment maybe 1-3 years. I took him to the Cancer Treatment Center of America and he doesn't even have cancer!! Always get another opinion!
