Dr. Raymond George Troy, MD

He should not be practicing at all let alone work w/ANYONE who is vulnerable & seeking help. He was aggressive, menacing, demeaning, verbally abusive & berating. He asked about a decreased med dosage & when the response was that she didn’t feel good on the higher dosage & that she had discussed it w/another physician, he started criticizing her in a hostile manner. His behavior is disgusting and in no way can be considered treatment or help. This is no exaggeration & sounds incredible to say about a licensed professional but PLEASE DO NOT subject yourself or your children to him. The profession is overloaded but there is a reason he has availability. If you have no other option PLEASE ACCOMPANY YOUR CHILD for their well-being & to witness this behavior, which seems difficult to believe w/o observing it. But please do not take any chances - any vulnerable child who is looking for help will be worse off from seeing this poor excuse for a medical professional.

My adolescent daughter saw Dr. Troy several times. He had an outburst during their last appointment that had me concerned for our physical safety. His language and actions might be best described as a completely unprovoked psychotic break. The scariest part about the experience is that I am sure I would not have believed my child if she told me what he said and did had I not been physically present, because his behavior was so bizarre. I spoke with several trusted therapists at Nationwide Children's about the incident, and while they did not reveal anything directly, I got the impression it was not surprising to them. The entire field of psychiatry and in particular pediatric psychiatry is significantly understaffed, so if you have no other option than Dr. Troy, please be sure to accompany your child at ALL times for their physical and emotional safety.

Dr. Troy helped me through the most difficult time in my life. He was there for me. He was warm and genuine and patient with me. He really cared about me. I do miss seeing him. I do recommend Dr.Troy. Dr. Troy if you are reading this I will never forget you and how much you helped me. Thank you so much! ????

He was always a little off to me. Kneeling on the floor in front of me every visit. He invalidated my eating disorder calling it “not that bad”.

I think this is the same Dr. who stroke a father and so while drunk driving. I thought his licensed was suspended

I have had many psychiatrists is my short life. But Dr. Troy is the only one who actually gets things right with me. I have been labeled as bipolar and told that I have Borderline Personality disorder (which I have none of those they shouldn't of even labeled me with a personality disorder as I was only 16.) He is very friendly and a really easy male to talk to. I don't usually like male doctors but Troy is amazing.

My son has been seen by Dr. Troy for several years. He is always patient and kind to my son & I. He always takes the time to listen & helps resolves any issues my son is having with his behavior rather than just pushing unwanted medications on my son. Dr. Troy has been a huge help to my son.

I’ve been in and out of Children’s services for depression and anxiety for over 4 years. Out of all of the doctor’s I’ve worked with I’ve never felt more uncomfortable then I do in his office. I never write reviews although I felt the need to help someone before wasting their time. Dr. Troy had the shortest waiting list of all the Dr’s I’ve tried to see, so don’t be fooled by the quick help. It’s quick because of the amount of clients that would rather receive no help for their psychiatric needs than to receive his services. I’ve felt hopeless and even he himself has told me that I’m running out of options for the help I can receive due to the amount of time that I’ve been affected by my illnesses. I’m currently searching outside of children’s for my psychiatrical needs and I’m finally getting somewhere. Many staff members at Children’s are fantastic and I’m shocked they allowed Raymond Troy to be apart of their system. I searched his name before he became my psychiatrist only to learn… that he was involved in a hit and run and multiple other crimes while he was located in Northern Ohio. Because of this his practice failed resulting in the change of location. I gave him a chance because I believe anyone can become a better person. But Dr. Troy isn’t one of those people

Im not sure where to start. Much as the same of one of the reviewers. The first time we met him he seemed angry. He increased the medication, the second time - still seems angry tells us to stop the medication, no taper (seemed odd as I have 12 years in a medical office, direct patient care, and I have NEVER heard a doctor say "just stop" . The last time we met him - his behavior was just odd..erratic even. He never asked any questions or took time to get to know my child. He hardly ever made sense to me - there would be times my child and I would look at each other w clueless looks on our faces. So I decided to check the reviews of this doctor. Most are poor...during my search I found out in 2010 he was arrested for DUI, and struck 2 pedestrians, one a 5 year old child. There is actually a video of it available on Itunes and Amazon. It was on a show like cops but based out of Cincinnati called Police Women Season 5 episode 3. I started to wonder - was he drunk during our… visits...it would explain alot. You can google his name and easily find the information - it was in the paper.
