Dr. Raymund Mart Poquiz, MD

We have been going to Tots and Tikes for 1 year and never had a problem with any of the other doctors. Dr. Poquiz was immediately rough with my one year old granddaughter. He did not talk to her, he forced her down on the exam table with his stethoscope, when she cried, he pushed harder leaving red marks and a small scratch! He pushed her head down on the exam table to look in her ears. He was pushing so hard, her temple was turning white, and she had a full red hand print on each side of her head. My daughter stopped him halfway through the second ear, telling him"you're hurting her"! He stopped and acted clueless! Idiot! My granddaughter continued to cry for several minutes. It was a hurt cry and there was no calming her down! We should have checked his reviews before going to him, HE HAS THE EXACT SAME REVIEW FROM 2013!!! 6 years and he is still doing the same thing!

A few weeks ago my 8mth old son started showing many signs that of seasonal allergies. My Husband took him here to see Dr. Poquiz, he misdiagnosed him and wrote it off as him teething. He said that if it didn't clear up in a few weeks to call back and he would send a prescription for allergies to my pharmacy. Here we are a few weeks later and I've being calling ALL day and no one can seem to help me. I suppose my first sign to find a new doctor was when my son was three months old he discouraged me from nursing because my son wasn't gaining weight fast enough so he recommended we do formula to help his weight. After I told him I didn't want to do that because when you give them bottles they want to stop nursing he told us that theory has never been proven and completely untrue! And sadly I have given these people more chances and now I am running for hills as anyone else reading this should too! I don't know about the other doctors but this one is a joke and shouldn't be allowed to… work with children.

This was the first time we saw Dr. Poquiz, he was not helpful at all. He just handed us a piece of paper of information about my baby's illness. My mother was more helpful! I also had questions about vaccines. I noticed my baby didn't receive two that she needed last time. He told me she did receive it on this date, which by the way was a date from last year! He then looked again and said she didn't receive the other vaccines because she had too many at her last visit. I informed him she only had.o en last time. FINALLY he realized they messed up at her last visit and she received the other 2 vaccines this time. This is the first and last time we will go there and see someone else besides Dr.Carter. She is fantastic. She talks fast but trust me, she cares and hears you! She will answer your questions and she knows your child and reason for the visit before she walks in the door.

Went to Tots&Tykes as a new patient for a well checkup. The office was clean and had sufficient space. The lady at check-in was cordial. The medical assistant was either new or not trained very well as she seem to expect us to know where to go (remember this is our first time at this office) and she seemed like she rather be chatting with her co-workers than to attend to us. We waited over an hour in the waiting room and exam room in total. I was surprised to see a male doctor enter the room. He explained my child can see any of the doctor's in the practice, even though I specifically asked for his associate, a female, Dr. Carter when I made the appointment. Dr. Poquiz checked out my son and was good with him. The issue I had was that he didn't seem to be use to parents asking questions and/or having concerns. I do not know if he just decided to stop listening or if there was a language barrier, because he clearly did not address my concerns. Dr. Poquiz did say he would refer… me to a specialist if it "made me feel better" and that his staff would be in touch. At one point he told me he "needed to go see other patients". My concerns didn't take more than a 5 minutes to discuss. They did not follow up on making sure they received all my new paperwork, as I ended up taking a packet home since it was just left there on the counter in the exam room. I surely do not want my child's personal info floating around. It has been over two weeks and not a word from the office about the referral. I doubt it was notated much less received by the staff. I recommend Dr. Poquiz for a bare bones doctor, don't expect to be wowed by any means.

My kids love Dr. Poquiz. He has been our pediatrician for over 8 years. From treating eczema, to common colds or viruses, to calming my nerves about immunizations, he really has taken time out of his day to make sure I fully understand what it is my kids are going through. There was a review below about waiting almost 45 minutes for the doctor to arrive. I ask you to think about this before thinking Dr Poquiz is a bad doctor. If you are ever waiting for a long time, there are a few really good reasons. 1.) You are not the only patient there. Make your appointment on a Tuesday if possible, or a Wednesday. I say that from experience. Most people wait the whole weekend and then slam offices, like the doctor or a dealership (i.e for a car) on a Monday. So, not only are there you but also 26 other you's waiting for the same level of care. 2.) Each patient deserves their time with a doctor, so say that one family really needed to talk to Dr Poquiz for about thirty minutes.. yes… that means that your appointment time will be delayed. It isn't too hard to understand unless you would like to reinvent time. 3.) I don't have a three, just get some patience. ---All in all, Dr Poquiz does a lot for the community. He has a really high standard of professionalism that cannot be matched in these trying times. I urge you to take a chance, and you will find that him and his team take care of the children as if they were their own, and then some.

Dr. Poquiz is the most clueless doctor I have ever taken my son to. We went to the doctor for my 9 month old son as he was coughing, stuffy,pulling ears and running fever and just not feeling well. We sit in his room for at least 45 minutes waiting for him. He finally comes in, I had my very upset son laying in my lap and he walks in real loud and scares him and he starts screaming. Tells me, okay put him on the bed. I told him I would rather hold him...he insisted he lay on the bed. Whatever, okay. He goes to check his ears and holds him down really rough leaving a red mark on his head. Opens his mouth, shines the light and sits him up and then says, oh hes teething, hes fine, give him some teething tabs. Asked TWICE about his coughing and ear pulling, says oh its all related. and walks out. He was in the room less than 5 minutes. Well I leave the appointment, bring my son home and less than an hour later hes screaming in pain and doesn't want to eat or drink. I take him to the ER… down the road cause I want another answer. First minute they saw him they knew he didn't feel well. The took us back...let me sit on the bed with him and hold him through his whole exam. My son has a double ear infection and an upper respiratory infection that needs to be treated with antibiotics. I WOULD NEVER TELL SOMEONE TO GO TO THIS DOCTOR. He's very rude and obviously does not want to treat children.

Dr. poquiz is the worst dr. I've ever known. He is very rude, doesn't let me explain what I want to say. He doesn't provide the care a parent expect from a pcp, and he certainly is not the pediateician you should look for. I went one time with my daughter because she had a strong stochache, was complaining for several days, crying and vomiting, and had some congestion. He said that she had a common cold, prescribed her three different medicines: nasonex, chlo-tuss, and zirtec. I did not go to the pharmacy indeed. I waited that day until she was in a terrible pain and went to the ER. The doctors there did some tests and discover her enzimes (lipases) were very elevated, she had PANCREATITIS, HER PANCREAS WAS INFLAMED. He is a terrible doctor. That sad story is not the only one I have but let somebody else say the rest.

If your child has ADHD, these doctors do not want to take care of your children.
