Dr. Raza Anwar Khan, MD

Poor cancer doc. I believe he contributed to my fathers passing in my heart. Proceed with caution and do research before being treated by this man.

I'm 2 weeks post-op for total knee replacement surgery when I developed blood clots in both lungs and was re-admitted to the hospital to address the clots. He comes into my room, unshaven and unkempt in a business suit, sits next to me on the bed and without any explanation or forewarning, takes a reflex hammer and strikes the replaced knee directly on the incision causing immediate and unbearable pain. When questioned as to why he'd do such a thing he acted incredulous and claimed to not have any knowledge of the recent knee surgery. Without any apology whatsoever he proceeded to talk about my chart and medical history and specifically about the recent surgery. He tried to cover his mistake by claiming ignorance, but then admitted he'd read the chart and had full knowledge as to why I was there and he was seeing me. The next night he appeared again in the hospital room and placed a stethoscope on my chest in 3 locations but barely. I mean to say he touched my chest ever so… briefly in 3 places in approximately 1 second total time and never even took the time to listen to my lungs. I, like many people, have had numerous doctors and nurses listen to my breathing and there is NO WAY he heard anything whatsoever as he didn't even spend enough time to listen. It was simply touch chest, touch chest, touch chest and then he exited the room without a word. I am thoroughly appalled at his bedside manner, his actions, his lying and refusal to offer a simply apology. If a doctor enters a hospital room to see a patient and has no idea why the patient is being presented, he has no business in this profession. It scares me to think how he might treat someone with more serious issues. I would never recommend him for anything. There are nurses with better qualifications than this. The pain levels at the surgical site were bad prior to this experience, but they were improving daily. His actions set back my pain levels to that which they were following the surgery.

I have been with Dr. Khan for 2 years so far and he does a Great job getting my leukemia back into Remission. Before him I was treated by Dr. Manuszak for 13 years.

Dr Khan is very through and never made me feel rushed. He took time to answer all my questions and patiently explained and addresses all my concerns. I have moved to another state and hope my new doctor will be as calm and comforting.

He told me and my mother that she has STAGE 3 CANCER last wk.- Before her test results were read!!! I fired him immediatley- they wanted to give my mom CHEMO right away. Well, today they told my mother her fluid in her stomach was CANCER-FREE- NO CANCER!!!! So you don't assume what a patient has- until you have the FACTS! We have been so worried that she was full of cancer. NO THANKS TO THIS DR.-

Dr. Khan along with Dr Kafalas, Dr D'Agustino misdiagnosed my husband. They knew he had a spot on his spine and in his right lung. Without testing him, they removed half his right lung. Then said his cancer was a stage 2b. When the fact is, if they would have done the proper testing, they would have found out that my husband was in fact a stage 4 non small cell lung cancer. By not testing him, when they did the surgery, they caused him to get worse. The other oncologist has to try to do damage control. But now my husband is now on hospice fighting for his life. You should have your license taken away. And my lawyers are working on that. These are the worse deals I have ever meant. Go to Cleveland Clinic cancer center. Their drama are amazing. They did what they could to try to help my husband.

Every 6 months we went to Dr Khan for years and because blood work was "stellar" and no symptoms he failed to sit down and discuss thoroughly what was going on and seek a diagnosis. The CT scans caused us more and more concern as lymphnodes grew but Dr Khan almost verbatim gave us the same response as he stood in the middle of the room each visit. Instead he refers us to a urologist when the main issue to discuss was to name the lymphoma. Best thing we did was seek help at the Cleveland Clinic and be treated by an oncologist who deals with the facts and treats his patients with compassion and communicates about treatment.

My husband is being treated by Dr. Khan and has been very positive and thorough explaining things. He was undecided if Chemo was 100% necessary until talking to my husband and seeing he was young and healthy and could handle it well and would hopefully prevent cancer recurring by doing chemo. My husbands family has extreme longevity and if cancer were to show up later in life it is harder to handle. His assistant is also very good and I believe he tends to tell it like it is. Every patient will have different symptoms and reactions.

I wouldn't recommend Dr Khan to anyone. He has very poor bedside manner, no sympathy for his patients, and very poor communication. My dad was treated for Stage 4 lung cancer and I wish we would have took him to see someone else. Dr Khan didn't explain anything to him and never gave us the full results of any of his testing he had done. I found out the results for myself and there were various things that he didn't tell my father or our family. A second mass that was found on a CT scan was never discussed with us, and ended up being the reason my father passed suddenly. Please find another physician before seeing this Dr!!!

I don't like this Dr. Khan. He has a problem with communication with his patients. Don't explain nothing. Come in the room checks lungs throat. And out the door he goes. I need a different Dr. Someone who explained everything. Please !
