Dr. Rebecca Williamson Brown
Dr. Brown is a respected member of the Ohio optometric community. She has practiced in the tri-county area for over a decade and has held several leadership positions in her profession. Currently Dr. Brown is serving as the Immediate Past President of the Ohio Optometric Association. She is also a former Ohio Optometric Association Zone Governor. In 2009 she was named as Ohio’s Young Optometrist of the year and Key Optometrist of the Year in 2008.
In the optometric field, Dr. Brown volunteers for InfantSEE (www.infantsee.org), Sight for All United, and Real Eyes Save Our Sight Classroom Initiative.
The staff of Essential Vision Care is excited to work with an eye doctor that brings a wealth of experience to Salem as well as a strong academic background. Dr. Brown completed her residency through The Ohio State University at the Cleveland Veterans Administration Medical Center in hospital based optometry. She …received her doctorate of optometry from the Southern College of Optometry and was awarded a B.S. from John Carroll University where she majored in biology. She is also a 1994 graduate of Salem Senior High School.
Dr. Brown is an active member of the Salem community. She has recently served as president of the St. Paul Home and School Association. Her other activities also include membership in Kiwanis, the Salem Junior Mothers’ Club, and The Dustin Huffman Memorial Scholarship Board. In 2008, Dr. Brown was a Mahoning Valley Young Professionals “Top 40 Under 40” honoree. She resides in Salem with her husband, Craig, and two sons, Aaron and Jack.
