Dr. Rebecca Lynn Elia, MD

Dr. Elia was one of the rudest, nastiest doctors I have EVER come across. I had an appointment with her and not only did she refuse to answer my questions, she dismissed them entirely and told me that the problems I were experiencing would probably last forever. She offered no advice or consolation. She was even rude when I asked her how to navigate the Kaiser complex. I have seen her website about being a wellness and life coach and I can tell you that your life will only get worse interacting with her.

My experience of Dr. Rebecca Elia has been a very positive one. She's smart, caring, takes time to explain and educate, and is gentle and compassionate in her approach to women's health. I appreciate her thorough grounding in traditional medicine, but her ability to integrate a more enlightened and patient-oriented approach. She's not the kind of doctor who doesn't even look up, hands you a prescription, and heads you out the door. She really wants to get to the root of the issue, and help you find a way to heal and get well, not just stick a bandage on it and hand you a pill and send you on your way. She is an exceptional physician in a world where so many doctors seem to just "phone it in" and I have no qualms recommending her to any woman who needs a top-notch gynecologist and partner for their wellness.

I went to Dr. Elia for a routine GYN check-up. Something I always dread doing because I am highly sensitive and I always find the manual breast examination very painful. I was absolutely shocked to get a thorough breast exam from her without any pain whatsoever. In addition, having had so many negative experiences with the medical establishment, I avoid follow up exams for a serious illness which I had some 20 years ago. She had a gentle and very intelligent discussion with me about this behavior and was able to convince me that it was possible and worthwhile to find a caring, intelligent doctor who would listen to my concerns. I am thrilled to have found Dr. Elia.

I met Dr. Elia in NYC and was very impressed with her caring nature. We met for more than an hour and discussed many of her specialties and her approach to various conditions. I look forward to meeting her again and continuing our discussion.

Dr. Elia is an excellent, caring doctor. She spends time with me, and explains everything very clearly. And best of all, she is respectful of me. I have recommended her to all my friends.

She spent so much time with me - she was so thorough. She diagnosed my issue with no hesitation - and she was 110% on Target... I hope she never leaves my area! I would hate to have to find another wonderful doctor like her.I highly recommend Dr Elia!!

I am thrilled to recommend Dr. Rebecca Elia. Frankly, it's rare to find a physician like her these days -- she is a product of some of the best schools in the country and her medical education is impeccable, but she has always had a down-to-earth, collaborative style with her patients. When I was her patient, she always took time to explain things in an understandable way, and explain my options -- but she never talked down, or rushed me, or made me feel like my questions were not welcomed. She is not the type of doctor to whip out a prescription pad and send me out the door... rather, she talked to me about lifestyle, diet, nutrition, hormonal status, and all the factors that contributed to my symptoms, so that we could come up with an actual plan to focus on my getting well and staying well in the long run, not just relieving a symptom in the short run. All in all, I highly recommend Dr. Elia as a gynecologist, and was sad for me -- but glad for her -- when she went on her writing… sabbatical!

I saw Dr. Elia 5 times before she left the practice where I was receiving care. At every visit, she was condescending and disrepectful. In addition, she was rough and all exams and procedures were painful.
