Dr. Rebecca Michelle Fenichel, MD

After mistakes having been made with other of her blood tests orders, Dr. Fenichel was asked to check on status of a test she had ordered and had advised was needed to fully evaluate results of other bloodwork. Despite requests, she refused to check on it for over a week, only to finally learn that once again, the proper test not ordered. She blames her staff for her mistakes and her patient paid the price in wasted time, expense and worry. She does not return any phone calls or have the patience to explain conditions. She is the worst experience we have ever had with a Doctor.

My experience with Dr. Fenichel was excellent. I found I could talk to her about my concerns without being cut off and I felt confident in her skills and recommendations. My calcium levels were too high and I need to examine my thyroid/parathyroid. I was trying to get pregnant as well and was anxious as to the diagnosing and being treated as quickly as possible. She gave me confidence in laying out the treatment options. After the appointment, we stayed in close touch through phone and email on the results and she helped co-ordinate my visit to Lenox Hill (for a systemibi) and she pulled strings to get me in as soon as possible with the Chief endocrine surgeon at NYU and I am very grateful. The best part about Dr. Fenichel is that I felt she really owned my case from beginning to end. I kept thinking to myself how ideal it would be to have all doctors work in this fashion. I didnt feel I was on a rotating machine and am glad I found her.

After many, many calls to her office to make an appointment, I finally reached someone. Almost every time the phone was either on VM, or said that they were unavailable and to ring back later, even during office hours, which they state on their message. When I went to the appointment, I waited forever to see the dr in the waiting room and the exam room. Then had a chat in her office b/f she said to change in the exam room. I sat there for almost half an hour until she came back. She examined me, thought she felt something, did a scan, said nothing was there, and then to sum it up said that she googled my chronic condition and it seems people with that sometimes have some things I was experiencing so that must be it. REALLY? She then sent me for some tests, to which I never heard back from her. I kept trying to get someone at the office for the results but it took THREE months till I finally did, after sending my mother into the office as she was next door. One of the results… on my tests could have been serious, but she never even rang me about it. I heard from her office about 5 mos later asking if I was going to finish up the other stuff with the dr. I laughed. I wouldn't send my enemy to her!

She is thorough and she listens. She definitely follows up. I'm a retired nurse and inmy opinion she is an excellent physician. She friendly but notwarm...but who cares. And BTWshe takes medicare

Dr. Fenichel seemed confuse me with other patients and accused me of missing appointments and blood tests when I was not scheduled for any. At my last appointment accused me of being a day late in the middle waiting room in front of other patient while I was holding my 6 week old son in my arms!

Rebecca Fenichel is an OK doctor, but her office would always make up appointments and charge you $50 if you miss it. And it is easy to miss an appointment you never knew existed. Be ready to pay $50 from time to time if you decide to be a patient of the office, because they never waive it. I have failed to prove that I should not be responsible for it since I never knew about the appointments. Be also ready that assistants simply hang up on youService is bad, you will feel attitude.

Dr Fenichel and her staff have always been there form me. When no one else knew the answers, she found them. When other providers left me out there, she helped me get the help I needed. Always supportive, always teaching... reliable and one of the nicest people I've ever met. I love her staff too!

The Dr. is difficult and doesn't really focus on patient care nor on making patients comfortable to ask questions and get information. Her diagnoses are not always clear nor well communicated. repeatedly poor experience. I would definitely not recommend this physician and think it's time I find a new one myself. I always leave more confused as to my health issues and more frustrated than when I walked in the door.

She wasnt really willing to listin to me. Additionally i called a number of times with questions and no one ever returned my call.
