Dr. Rebecca Ann Fredrick, DO

I saw Dr. Fredrick for the first time for a regular physical. She was extremely dismissive and rushed during the appointment, and afterwards did not provide a thorough review on my blood results. Anxiety and depression – I mentioned my struggles with anxiety and depression and said I was considering meds, but wanted more info to help make my decision. She gave two med options, and when I asked her the difference, she said "well they're 2 different chemicals." I reworded my question, and she continued to dismiss. Infertility concerns – I told her my husband and I have been struggling to conceive for over a year, with one chemical pregnancy 2 months before my appointment. She displayed very little empathy, and did not discuss any options for infertility testing. Blood results – She replied "labs are normal" on my test results. However, there were a couple slightly elevated results. When I messaged her about them, she was dismissive and rude, as if offended I questioned her.

I had an Unfortunate experience at Lakewood Hospital's ER and left more or less un-diagnosed or "mis" diagnosed. Dr. Fredrick worked with me to try and understand what the issues were and almost figured it out before we moved away. I had another "episode" here that turned out to me a heart attack. The diagnosis from Lakewood's Cleveland Clinic completely missed the situation and it now appears that I've hard 6 heart attacks in the last five years. Everything is fine now that someone figured it out and I am confident that Dr. Fredrick would have saved me from a few of them ... if we had stayed in Cleveland.

I told this doctor i went to an urgent care for a two week rx. It had been 10 days. I finished another medication 3 months ago, but it had only been 2 (really felt like 3 and it was the end of the month.) She asked if I had any medication left, and I thought she was asking about the finished one, so I said no. I had 4 days left and had my full history printed in my purse. She left the office "to charge her laptop" and came back in insisting i hadn't been honest with her. She was angry and confrontational. When she told me to leave and never come back, I was too upset and and frankly startled at her reaction to even know where the misunderstanding happened. I feel a good doctor would've seen my reaction was textbook anxiety. If she had remained calm and treated me like a patient, I may have been able to keep myself together enough to show her the dates on the paperwork I had filed out and the rx history in my purse to clear the misunderstandung. Instead I panicked, mumbled whatever… words i could form in my defense and left, and now have 3 days to find a new doctor. She refused me help when I really needed it. The staff was nice, the office clean, and the whole situation could've been handled better on both sides. If you need antobiotics or an event related antidepressant, she's probably ok. For any deeper mental health issues (chemical inbalance, anxiety, add, ect.), i wouldn't recommend her due to the unprofessional and rash way she reacted.
