Dr. Rebecca Jacobi, MD

Let me just start by saying I never write reviews, no really.. I don't. But I felt obligated to do so after this appointment. So I went in to have my first appointment with my actual doctor, Dr. Jacobi. Since then I had just been seeing nurses and other staff. I was extremely excited and anxious to see how my baby was doing. I waited for 45 minutes in the waiting room and about another 15-20 in the exam room. This check up was my 16 week check up. When she came in the room I could tell she was flustered by the business of the office, she did however apologize for the wait. She sat down and said, "what do you have for me?" I was like... Uhh.. You mean what do YOU have for ME? Thankfully I did have a list of questions prepared. She answered them very short, to the point, and arrogantly. I asked if I was on track for weight gain. She told me that if I've always been thin my whole like that I would have to get over the fact that I'm not going to be. She said that's a very difficult… psychological thing to overcome. When I was just simply asking if I was on track. Being that this is my first baby I wanted to know. She then asked if I was wanting to have an epidural or not. I told her I would like to try to have a natural birth. She said that there is no medical reason to not get an epidural and that there is no trophy at the end if you have a natural birth. She said if you really want to check that box and feel like you have to climb that mountain, then fine, but I wouldn't recommend it. It hurts. Then she looked at my husband and asked, how tough is she? I just wanted a doctor who supports my birth plan whether he or she agrees or not. I want to feel comfortable and supported. Then, to top off the appointment, she didn't lay a finger on me. I didn't even get to hear the heartbeat :( In fact, I never left the bench. I never even sat on the exam bed. She didn't measure, look me over, even after I told her I had a lump in my breast I was concerned about. She said that was normal. And then, weeks prior I had an ultrasound done to test for chromosome abnormalities. I never received a call back. So I asked her about the test and blood work at the appointment. Her face when I asked her was like, oh, I didn't know you even had that done kind of look. Then she said, well I only get the abnormal ones across my desk and I don't remember seeing anything from you, so I guess everything is fine. Guess?!? I wanted to KNOW!! Those tests are kind of a big deal! Anyway.. All and all I left there very disappointed. Especially being my first baby and first appointment with her. I wanted to leave feeling excited. So I have since switched doctors. Just be weary... I've heard she is quick to cut and that her nick name around there is Rebecca Scissorhands.

Dr.Jacobi answered all questions thoroughly & spent an adequate amount of time with me.

Dr Jacobi is the worst dr i have ever been to. I'am 4 weeks pregnant and have low hcg levels. I have previously had 2 miscarriages and all she talked about if i miscarried and what can be done about that. I need a dr thats going to care about the health of me and my baby and this dr just doesnt. If you are considered high risk while preganant I would not go see her. She wanted to give me advise on what we can do after I miscarry. I have no faith in this dr and will never go back.

Extremely friendly, easy to talk to, answers questions, cares about her patients.

I trust Dr. Jacobi with my life completely, she's a straight-forward get it done doctor & very good at the clinical portion of her job (educated). However, during my OB visits I felt like a complete nuisance to her. I felt like she thought my questions were stupid at times. I would get anxiety at my appointments because I knew I had all these questions to ask, but a very short amount of time to ask them, I felt like just a number to her sometimes. If you want a doctor who knows what she's doing & you can trust then she's perfect, but if you want a doc to spend time with you & make you feel comfortable then she's probably not the right fit. I think she would be a perfect ER doc, but maybe not the best OB doc.

My experience was not good. She was very negative and almost made me cry. I would suggest that older women not go to her.

Dr Jacobi delievered my first baby. She was rude at my appointments and made me feel like she had other more important patients, and rushed my visits. My labor was terrifying-and she treated me horribly through the entire process. I was rushed into an emergency c-section due to her repeated mistakes. After delivery she treated me with disrespect and disgust. I ended up contracting E.Coli due to complications during delivery. When I came in to see her-she told me I had the flu and to go home and not to be "that patient." The next day I was rushed to the E.R. She was horrible to me the entire time I fought for my life. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy. She made my first birth experience awful, and I almost lost my life because of it.

This was the on-call physician when my wife arrived @ the hospital. Rude, aggressive & COMPLETELY inappropriate, we would have had a better birth-experience had we delivered in the car. As a man, I would urge you to consider another physician. This is a vile, despicable woman & regrettably I have to afford her a single star on this site. Guys - suggest your wife / SO seek another provider.

She is always in a rush! I feel like an inconvenience for coming for a yearly physical.

Dr Jacobi delivered 2 of our 4 girls and performed a D and E, all were somewhat complicated and intense. She is very confident in her ability and makes you feel calm and relaxed due to her "take charge" mentality. She also has a great memory of your history and knows exactly what is going on with you during your pregnancy. Would highly recommend her to anyone.
