I really like Dr Rebecca Press, but her staff never returns appointment calls .

A number of years ago, I went to Dr Press for perimenopausal symptoms that I had suffered for a couple of years. Because of my age (late 30'ies/early 40'ies), Dr Press did not run a blood test to check my hormonal levels and did bother to pay attention much when I described my symptoms (textbook perimenopausal), instead, she wrote off my condition as depression and gave me a referral to a therapist. I never went back to Dr Press, however, my both my new GP and ob/gyn confirmed that I was indeed experiencing early perimenopausal symptoms, which, at this point, has developed into full menopause. Worth noting is that a friend of mine who saw Dr Press around that time also got the depression-diagnosis, although she suffered from a completely different condition.

Terrible physican's assistant. I will call to have a prescription called in and never get a response. When you deal with her PA face to face she will do anything to get rid of you. She is rude and impatient. I get the sense from Dr. Press that she'd rather be doing something else too. Dr. Press just seems oblivious and disinterested.

Having lived in New York for over 15 years, I had a number of primary care physicians - some were good, others were not.Dr. Press is by far the best among the group. Her combination of skill, professionalism, kindness and accessibility is rare, particularly in NYC. She has a positive attitude and it's easy to tell that she loves her work, enjoys meeting with patients and is genuinely concerned for their health. Dr. Press is also connected with a world class network of specialists within the Columbia Presbyterian network.
