Good and thorough .

Dr. Teagarden is excellent. She focuses on our conversation, takes the time necessary to address all topics, and takes into account my preferences when offering potential care options.

My father was not a patient of this doctor, however, she was apart of a hospital “ethics committee” that was deciding whether or not my father got IV fluids. Not once did she contact my family to get our opinion of what my father would want or even collect information about his condition from us. We had valuable information to share about his condition. She did, however, contact his family doctor without our consent or his. She was not a treating physician of my fathers. I am looking into whether or not this is a hippa violation. Additionally, we were not invited to this secret “ethnics committee”meeting to decide my dad’s fate. What is a poa good for anyway, if these people are making decisions. A PR meeting was held afterward to inform us of the decision not to give him IV fluid. I even asked what if he had abmornal blood test results, would you have it put back in..answer was basically a no. I see this as end of life decision making that Summa hospital had no right making. I was… also told by the discharge doctor that the ethics committee was involved in my dad’s discharge. I am not sure why at that point they would be still involved being that none of them were treating my family. Most importantly, this woman was not treating my dad.

I have been seeing Dr. Teagarden for about 2 yrs. She is not rushed, and takes the time to understand what is going on. She listens, and her answers my questions are in depth and complete. She talks thru options with you, and uses prescriptions as a last resort. Very prompt in returning email queries. Extremely satisfied with my experience.
