Dr. Rebekah Wilbourn Moulder, MD

NO BETTER PHYSICIAN

She has been my family doctor for the past 20 years. My mom and daughter both see her. I found Dr. Moulder to be highly competent, caring and a great listener. I highly recommend her and her office staff.

She has been my GP for about 15 years. She listens and has a common sense approach to any issue I may have. One of a kind in my book.

I've debated whether or not to write a review for Dr. Moulder, because I don't usually do this. I've seen this doctor more than once, and honestly it's hit and miss with the visits. I never know what to expect. There are times when she is kind and seems to care and times when she's really not all that friendly or concerned. I understand people have good days and bad days, even physicians, but please, it's important not to let that interfere with your patient, and I have felt that I have actually been a bother when I've needed help. Maybe she didn't mean it, but I have. Granted, she seems to have medical knowledge and I'm appreciative of that but a good doctor (or at least the ones I want for me) should also be compassionate about me as a person, not just what they can see/view clinical-wise. I've noticed another reviewer felt the same way, so I know I'm not alone in this when I feel that she only wants to look at something tangible before she feels confident in doing anything… about what you have described. You know, when you've struggled with something, it does not make you feel good when you seek medical help and it's not always taken seriously. Not everything can be black and white. If they are telling you something, please show respect to that, not brush it off. I have left her office in discomfort and tears because of this. I try not to take it personal because I do think at times she tries, but I just don't feel very comfortable in my relationship with her. And that's a terrible way for a patient to feel about their doctor. I would suggest to her to please LISTEN to your individual patients and become acquainted with their individual needs. I will say that her nurses show very good beside manner and compassion. Follow-ups are done very well. And the front office people--all great.

I've never written a review for anything, but I feel this is appropriate. I went to Dr. Moulder for what felt like an eternity trying to correct my sinus problems. She always threw antibiotics at me, and never seemed to actually fix the problems. After about 2 years of antibiotics and steroids (I'm sure were entirely bad for me), I finally went to go see an ENT. He ordered immediate CT scans. I had a deviated septum, every sinus cavity was backed up, one drainage route had collapsed, ears were backed up to where I could not hear, and staph was beginning to grow within my sinus cavities. The scans from my sinuses were black they were so backed up. HOW DO YOU MISS ALL OF THAT?! Luckily I was scheduled for surgery right away, and have never felt better. Like another reviewer said, I would only recommend her to someone I hate. PLEASE AVOID HER.

Clearly she has mixed reviews looking on the internet. Mine was not one of the better experiences. She apparently reserves compassion and empathy for only some of her patients, of which I was not one of them. She was quick to write off as stress a set of symptoms I was having and I finally, in frustration after repeated visits over months to her, got a second opinion. That doctor (unlike Moulder) ordered a CT scan, then based on those results a biopsy, and found a fairly serious problem (cancer). I then went back and told Moulder about the diagnosis, told her I wasn't coming back and why and she retaliated by firing me from the entire St. Dominic's system. Very unprofessional. I'd advise not telling her you are firing her. Instead just vanish from her practice. I'd also advise to be quick to get a second opinion if she is blowing you off as she seems to be quick to make up her mind and then never reconsiders her opinion even in the face of new symptoms. Also the office staff there… (especially the front office) is rude and no one seems to follow up. You have to call repeatedly to get information as no one returns phone calls. The few tests she did order no one from the office ever called to give me the results. I had to call them more than once to find out (some tests were negative, one was positive for an infection and needed medication). Not sure how many weeks it would have taken someone to call me if I had not been proactive.

Dr. Moulder is the most caring, compassionate, empathetic, professional, christian doctor I have ever been to. She really cares about every single patient. I have been going to her for five or six years now, and recommend all my family and friends to her. They all love her! I read some of these comments and am horrified! I can't believe the ignorance of some people! It is really funny that people are always so happy to write a bad review, but a thank you, wow! A thank you is almost impossible!!! If all those people that Dr. Moulder has done so much for thanked her just once, they would have to open a page just for her!!! In response to some of the comments below I'd like to say; 1st off a family physician is allotted around 15 min for a patient visit. Not the doctors choice, it's the hospitals, "their boss". Dr. Moulder tries to see everyone that needs her, she wants to help everyone! So if she can not stay with you to listen to your problems, there is probably someone in the next… room that needs her. Go to a psychologist who is there to empathize with you! Secondly, if a doctor saw you or your child for a rash, and did not diagnose it for you while you where there, I bet their psychic powers were not working at the time! There are only millions and millions of things it could be. Medicine is not a definite, there is no real text book cases, each and every problem could be a million of different combination of things. You could be in the hospital for a week and not find out what is wrong. I must say that if there is anyone that will try, more than any doctor anywhere, to find out what is going on, it is Dr. Moulder!! She researches, studies, consults with other doctors, on her own time, with no pay, time she could be spending with her family, to help each and every patient! You would not know this because she does not advertise it!!! If your not happy with the best doctor there is, move on, see if you can find a doctor half as good, that really cares, and knows what they are doing! GOOD LUCK and GOOD REDDENS!!
