Dr. Rebekah Kathleen Isabel Owen-Thayer, MD

Dr. Owen-Thayer should NOT be a doctor in my opinion! She has very little care or compassion for her patient's. She seems to care more about the State Medical Board than giving her patients the proper care and treatment. For patients that have been transferred to her, if she doesn't agree with the treatments or medications then she'll stop that treatment. She does not have enough knowledge about different medications, interactions of certain medications or the dangers of cutting certain medications out completely. A lot of patient's have gotten to a point of no longer discussing important health or medication issues with Dr. Owen-Thayer anymore because they feel it's pointless with her because she usually tells them "oh well" instead of actually listening or caring about her patients and doing something that they need or will help. Dr. Owen-Thayer is the kind of Dr we need less of!

Dr Owen-Thayer has been my doctor for twenty-five years. During all that time, through a variety of physical situations, she has treated me kindly and competently. She never rushes our visit. i cannot say enough praise of her.

She doesn't seem to know or care about me as a patient. I've seen her for 7+ years and she always seems rushed and has a pre-determined diagnosis no matter the symptoms or the reason for the visit. My "re-check" appointment was a farce. I had to tell her why I was there and remind her that she had prescribed a new medication. She didn't ask if it was helping... just told me to have a healthy lifestyle and eat organic from our garden.

I also am done,I seen her for 20 years, why, I left feeling very frustrated !!!! She says the same thing every time, I can't help you with that,why is she a doctor????

I have gone to her for years. I"m done. Threatens not to be my doc if I don't get diabetes under control. Always sends me to urgent care for unexpected illness's. She interrupted me while I was telling her my symptoms said "there's nothing I can do about that". Next doc I see does emergency surgery and saved my life.

I agree with the other reviews about not having your elderly relative under this doctors care. I am the daughter of an elderly woman that can't even get this doctor to call me. I live out of town and cannot be there for every appointment which is the only way you can have a conversation with this doctor. There are some things I just did not want to talk about with my mother present. Also, my mother has been in the hospital twice for a week at a time. This doctor NEVER visited once. She requires the patient's to make it to her office frequently which is impossible in some cases. There are Home Health people coming into the home that are relaying information to this doctor such as vitals, etc. The only thing this doctor does is take vitals and maybe change a prescription so there is no reason in putting my mother through these frequent visits.

This Doctor never visited my Mom in the hospital would not see her in her office denied hospice care and my mother died. She was too concerned about her vacation. Do not let your elderly parents trust their care with her.

All this woman cares about is getting the patients out the door! She thinks everything is caused from being overweight and doesn't even listen to the patient. Don't go to her unless you are desperate for a DR!

Very smart, well-informed, thorough, excellent at follow-up.
