Dr. Regina Ann Gargus, MD

This woman needs to retire or be fired! She did not seem to understand anything I said during the visit, and she clearly did not read the form that took me hours to fill out. Without speaking to my son and after misunderstanding what I was saying, she told me my son was headed for jail. He is only eight years old and only punched another child after the child had bullied him all year! She disregarded previous diagnoses by doctors and labeled him ODD. I requested copies of all medical forms and even wrote a stern letter, but I never received any response. Extremely unprofessional.

Dr. Gargus has been wonderful- and like a member of our family. She has been helping our son and our family for 10 years. Without her help our son would not be where he is today. She is a very special person and I am just shocked that anyone would have a bad word to say about her. She has given her life to helping children and families. I refer people to her from out of state all the time.

The only one to truly encourage and care. Told me I am a great Mom! That my child will be somebody and can do so many things that will blow our minds. That was 2 years ago and guess what he is! Also, offered tons of resources.

She is just so scattered and unreasonable. She diagnosed my son with mild cerebral palsy in one visit. The next visit, she had no record of our previous visit and wondered who diagnosed him. She would NEVER follow through with her own referrals. She'd refer us for orthotics or a pediatric eye appt and I'd have to call 20 times to get them to make the referrals that SHE had requested in the appts. At the final visit, she DEMANDED we have my son's IQ tested by a psychologist who insurance would not cover. It was to cost over $1,000 out of pocket and she herself said Hamilton County schools rely on their own testing. So NOTHING from this expensive test could've impacted our son's learning because the school district doesn't even look at it. We couldn't afford that and she was like "Better save up." I was finally just done with her. I could go on and on. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt BC you can have a bad appt even with the best doctor. It was just too much.

Dr Gargus helped me with twin grandchildren who were a product of a neglected and abused home. I dont know what our family would have done without her expertise and kind manner. She takes time with each child. She has helped provide life skills not just for the children but grandma too

Shocked at the negative reviews. We've had excellent results. Been to so many doctors in Atlanta, SC, NC. Our son is so much better. We come from North Carolina and its worth every mile. Please don't blame a doctor for being truthful and honest with you.

Dr. Gargus helped us get a diagnosis. I didn't care what it was, I just wanted to know WHAT it was. I hated the fact we had to wait so long. Yes, she was knowledgeable but I was waiting for way too long. They would call us back and we waited an additional amount of time. We felt like we should both be at the meetings, but my breadwinner husband would come on his break and wait so long a few times he thought he might have to leave to go back to work! My son has ADHD and other issues, so waiting for her was very difficult!!!!!

Dr. Gargus was very negative, told us our son would be deaf, blind and have mental difficulties. This horrible experience was devestating to us and I would not recommend her to anyone. Our son is 2 1/2 now, very intelligent, can see and hear!

She was instrumental in helping us get a diagnosis for our son! She was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. So people rating her horribly I don't understand. Waiting for her yes poor!

Had to post...I see other have rated Dr. Gargus poorly. I can't imagine why. We've seen her 3 times in the last year for our 5 yr old son. He has had some delays and symptoms of Autism. Dr. Gargus has been a great resource and support. We're glad to have her in Chattanooga!
