Dr. Rene Richard Peleman, MD

This man (he doesn’t deserve to be called doctor) needs to retire. He’s antiquated ways need to go. He left my suffering sister in the hospital in excruciating pain for hours on end, took hours to get back to the nurses for basic med orders, and was just all around a complete jerk to my sweet sister while she was going through something very traumatic. Will be filing official complaints with Henry Ford, the medical board, and blasting his name everywhere.

Dr. Peleman spends minimal time with patients and won’t answer questions. And according to my second and third opinions, he’s borderline incompetent.

Pleasant and caring doctor. Explains everything thoroughly.

I have a rare GI disorder (CVS) and he is one of the few Doctors in Michigan who treats patients with this disease. He keeps up with all the latest literature and takes the time to listen and explain new treatment options. Really listens to his patients!

I really liked Dr.Peleman, but I cannot get an appointment when I need it. When I had a problem with my colon and ran a temperature was told to go to the ER. The next time I was told I could not get an appointment until the end of the month. I was having a problem and was told to go to my GP. What is the point in having a Gastroenterologist if you cannot see him when you are in pain.

Very pleased with Dr. Peleman. I feel I am finally in good hands for PBC.

A very disappointing experience. He rushes you, talks too fast , and is condescending to boot. He does not give you any confidence that he is taking the time to understand your condition nor does he give you thoughtful explanations of treatment plans for the future.

He comes in the room for about 3 to 5 minutes and that's usually it. Been put on several medicines that did not work, one of which a proper blood test would have shown would never work. This gave her hair loss, lupus, and then another high dose of steroids to have to spend months weening off again. We're done going to u of m which is ranked among the top hospitals in the nation as opposed to Henry Ford Macomb which is barely rated 15 in the state. Please think before you start treatment with them.
