Dr. Renee Beverly Alexis, MD

The Dr herself was ok, however, the negligence of her staff is enough for me to give the practice 1 star. I would never recommend this practice even to my worst enemy. One Sunday I called the after-hours line with a very important question, but not something that required going to the ER, and supposedly a Dr was supposed to call me. Absolutely no call. I was very disappointed. Don't have an after-hours line if nobody will monitor the phones. Then, I received a $1000 blood work bill that Dr. Alexis told me to do, and was so shocked that their office never advised me that 1) this was an expensive test or 2) maybe I should have asked for a pre-approval from my insurance carrier first. When I asked later what billing codes they used, the nurse Connie said "I coded it right. Not my problem." They were very uncaring when I told them my insurance company wanted a "medical necessity" letter in order for them to cover the cost. The receptionist Tyril said they would call me… after talking to the Dr, but they never called me back. They just didn't care. The next month, my insurance company covered an office visit and I realized that I overpaid the Dr at the office. I went into the office to ask for a refund, and was told that the "office manager" would handle it and call me back. Of course - no call back. So I called one week later and they said she would call me, but again, no call. The office manager's phone extension mailbox is constantly full, and won't accept voice mail, by the way. Very convenient for her. I called 2 weeks after that and asked on the status, and they said "check's in the mail". Sure it was. 4 weeks went by and I called every single week, and they said "Your refund has been processed but it hasn't been mailed yet. It will be mailed this week." Of course it wasn't. It has now been 6 or 7 weeks since my initial request, and still no refund. How hard is it to issue a refund in the normal course of business? I would not recommend this practice. I believe the office staff make or break a practice, and this is one of those times when the staff have severely failed. Remember, you deal with the staff much more than you deal with the actual Dr. If you can't find people who are diligent, caring, and do the necessary follow-up, you may as well go somewhere else. I will never return to this Dr. It's not just the fact that they were uncaring, they never bothered to return any phone calls, never bothered to assist me with a medical necessity letter and now I'm still trying to pay off 5 months later - everything seems to "not be their problem".

Dr. Alexis is a great doctor to me. She's a very loving, funny, and caring woman.Every time I come to her office she always listen to me and answer all my questions. She deliver both of my two wonderful baby girls Paris and Londyn. There are both well and happy babies. ??

I had gone for along time without a gynecologist because my longtime physician passed away. I went to Dr. Alexis and was so happy with her. She understood my concerns and gave me solid professional advice and care. Love her!

I love Dr. R Alexis and her staff. On my first visit to the office she explained everything I needed to conceived my baby, by my forth visit I was 8 weeks pregnant after trying for 2 years. When it was time for me to deliver she was on time at the hospital and ready. Now I have a healthy baby boy weighing 7 pounds and 3oz. Very professional, great experience, I stongly recommend her and her team.

Terrible doctor. Very unprofessional

Worst doctor and office ever! So un- professional. I don't understand how she is in business. At first visit, I waited 2hrs to see her. She seemed nice. At the time of my visit I was 18 weeks pregnant. She had me to go see a specialist for genetic counseling. The appointment was for two weeks later. When I went back she told me she could not see me anymore because I was 20 weeks pregnant and her office does not take patients more than 20 weeks. I had told her she saw me at 18 weeks in her office. She decided to change her mind and left me with no referral for another doctor. I wasted 2 weeks and now no other doctor will see me because I am beyond 20 weeks! She is a liar and very un-professional. I asked to at least give a referral to another doctor and her response was to call my insurance and find one myself. I was in tears. I cant believe that as a Doctor or human being will allow a pregnant woman on her own that way. Her staff is also un-professional they hardly have people on… staff. Worst experience ever. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!

The office is poorly run. The doctor is often at the front desk taking phone calls, which I personally have never seen before and seems a bit inappropriate. It is nearly impossible for me to reach the office. Every time I've tried calling, I either reach the emergency line and I'm told to call back in fifteen minutes or I'm put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time. Took me over a half an hour on hold (which included being hung up on FOUR times) in order to make an appointment. The woman I spoke with didn't even ask me for my name until I'd been on hold for about twenty minutes. Ridiculous. (Not to mention it took over three weeks for me to receive the results of my pap smear, when I was told it would take two.) On the day of my appointment, I was asked to come in almost an hour earlier than my original appointment time at the last minute because the doctor had a meeting. (Why was I scheduled at that time in the fist place, then?) I assumed them asking me to come in earlier… meant I'd be seen earlier, but I ended up waiting about two hours to see the doctor. Even if i'd shown up at the original appt time, I'd have waited an hour. There was absolutely no point in me coming in early. I'm pretty sure the doctor didn't even have a meeting, since she was seeing patients immediately after me. When they finally called me in, I had to spend an additional 15 minutes answering the same new patient questionnaire I'd already completed the first time I'd been there. I will say, the doctor is very knowledgeable and helpful but her office is managed so poorly that it's not worth it to see her.

i would not recommend this office. I was excited to Dr.Renee because I had seen her work with my sister for her last born and she was very compassionate. I was dissappointed when I went for my first appointment and my husband came and the staff told him he could not use the restroom inside,he had to go on the side of the building. The office staff was not courteous and the wait was long. My second appointment was an ultrasound I had to have my bladder full to do andthey made me sit for about 40 mins. They also gave me the run around for a script that she was sending electronically on a Wednesday but actually did not get sent in until the followibg Monday I showed up at the office and physicqlly watched them do it. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

The counter staff refused to let me in for my appointment. She said that my Medicare insurance was not my primary insurance. I gave her all kind of information and after an hour and a half I had to call Medicare and put the staff on my cell just to confirm that it was my insurance. They did not how to read the information in the system and they had a lazy attitude because they could do that phone call since the beginning. After going through all of this aggravation I was waiting at the doctor's office for another half hour. When she showed up she spent with me 10-15 minutes the most. I asked the staff for a written prescription because I wasn't sure which pharmacy was in the network of my new insurance and the staff refused to do it. She said that it was only e-prescription service. I will never come back to this doctor.
