Dr. Renee Simon Aronsohn, MD

if I could give this Dr a 0 I would. I came to this physician as she was highly rated, after the birth of my son, and my pcp said I had a thyroid disorder, in order to treat it. At that point my TSH was approximately 572.0 (normal is 0.3-5.0). I was numb all over my arms, severe memory problems, periods of unconsciousness, severe weight gain (went from a 240-278 in a couple months-with no dietary changes), severe fatigue, muscle, joint and body pain, confusion, speech problems, skin problems, ON AND ON. When I broke down crying after going from a perfectly healthy woman to feeling like I was going to die in 5 months -trying to get help and bouncing from doctor to doctor her response to me was "Why are you crying, you must be severely depressed, you need to see a psychiatrist. I see people who are dying of cancer." COMPLETELY dismissing my illness, which later on, after 2 more doctors, come to find out is an Autoimmune disease called HASHIMOTOS, which, she should have diagnosed after… the first blood draw. Needless to say, I dropped her like a hot cake.

Doctor was quick to assume there was nothing at all wrong with me. She seemed condescending and unfriendly. I went to another doctor for a second opinion and found better, more accurate answers to my problems.

This has to be the worst doctor I've ever seen. If you spend more than 5 minutes with this doctor, consider yourself lucky. My first visit she ran some tests and told me my internist said I was having flushing. I said flushing? I had no idea what she meant and she didn't bother explaining it to me. She just said so flushing? No. The follow up visit she told me my diagnosis was consistent with PCOS. I told her I had been drinking spearmint tea which is supposed to be good for lowering it. She laughed and told me she hadn't heard anything about that. I asked her how could I lower testosterone, she told me I couldn't naturally. I'm aware of that. I wanted to know how medically. She then told me I could be put on low estrogen birth control but it was up to me because some people didn't want to be on birth control. I told her I was ok with that but did not want to be on a particular brand cause it made me a moody, emotional mess. I reiterated the unwanted brand several times by saying "as… long as it isn't XYZ". She gave no alternatives to not going on birth control even though some people don't want to be on it. I go to the pharmacy later on and what do you know, she prescribed the exact brand I told her NOT to put me on! She doesn't seem knowledgeable at all and does not listen to her patients whatsoever.

DO NOT go to this doctor! At any cost! If you decide to choose a different regimen that what she recommends, she will treat you in a disrespectful manner. I decided to undergo a more natural path in treating a condition, and she became upset when I asked to do follow-up blood work asking if I had a medical degree or had done a medical residency, which is irrelevant to wanting to take care of my body and choosing to monitor my condition before other problems associated with my condition become a problem. Seems as this doctor is more interested in her power, intimidating her patients and herself rather than empathizing and helping the patient. Throughout the appointment, I was significantly uncomfortable and did not get what I needed to done because I felt uncared for and upset.

I had two appointments. For both, I spent more time in the parking garage than with Dr. I have serious health problems and hospitalizations. She could care less. Absolutely no compassion, no interest in the patient. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! She just wanted to repeat more tests and run up the bill. She answers questions impatiently and very poorly.

Great doc. Smart straight forward and to the point. Responsive and caring. I would def recommend. Not sure what that other post about her limited medical background but from what I can tell she is the best endo in the area and came highly recommended.

I think Dr. Aronsohn is the best doctor I have ever had. I started seeing her about 18 months ago. I had been feeling awful and unable to regulate my thyroid. She was able to adjust my medication and within three months I was feeling better than ever. She has an assistant who would call me with my results, Heather. She was GREAT! always willing to help very intelligent... sometimes forgot I wasnt speaking with a doctor. I am very pleased with the whole expirience. They recently got a new person at the check in counter. He is the most polite person I've ever met.

I would not recommend her. She rushed through the appointment, downgraded the test results I presented to her, instead of admitting she does not understand how to read them, would not even retest for some that were appropriate. Felt she had no idea how to take care of a patient outside of her own little medical education. Most ignorant young doctor I have met.
