Dr. Renee Barbas Flannagan, MD

Would not take my dog to her if he had intestinal issues. She is all about what money she can rake in and has no concern for the well being of the person. Very sad when a doctor throws away all that knowledge for the almighty dollar but that is what happens when a person goes into a profession for which they do not have a true calling but only looks at the overall income. She sent me on my way shrugging her shoulders at my issue which was very severe. Any person, let alone a so called doctor who can walk away from someone in such poor condition who has the ability to help but refuses is not a person who cares the least for others but instead places their own selfish interests ahead of all.

Don't waste your time with her. Select other doctor.

Where do I start? She was dismissive from the time she walked into the room. I went in because of constipation, pain that kept me down for two days on my right side under my rib and distention in my upper stomach. Her suggestion was a colonoscopy after I drank Mir-a Lax and Gator-aid to clean out. Nothing about why my upper stomach would get hard in one area and be distended for days after I ate. Nothing about the pain short of "your colon is in that area" so are other things like my gallbladder. Could the distention be from a hernia? Could something else be going on there? No suggestion for x-rays or looking into why this was going on. She never asked why I was going through this. She never asked about my diet, hydration or how much exercise. Nothing. She cut me off when I was talking and didn't seem to want to be there. She may have been good with others but I thought her only answer was drinking the mir-a lax and a colonoscopy. She also wanted me to have a blood test for my… thyroid. All in all she was hurried and treated me like I was interrupting her day. I will be seeking another doctor. I refuse to be rushed, treated like I am not worth her time and I don't think she really cared about what I was going through. I had more questions and concern for patients when I was a PCT then she does as a doctor. If there was less than one star I would have given that. I wouldn't trust her with any surgery in case she was having a rushed day.

Contrary to others' comments in the review section, I found Dr Flanagan to be thorough, explained what she was evaluating, allowed me to ask questions to which she gave answers I could understand. I wish I would have had an earlier appointment to see her and look forward to her continued care. Thank you.

She is a exceptional pleasent person. Straight forward and easy to talk to. You get the feeling that she gives you all her attention and she takes her time, contrary to most us doctors.

Despite fixing my GI problem, Dr. Flannagan was not the most courteous doctor. My first appointment left me feeling frustrated and ignored after she dismissed many of my complaints as a "poor diet" simply because I was a college student. After a successful colonoscopy and decent bedside manner as she discussed my diagnosis, I haven't been able to contact her office since. My medication has run out and I still have heard nothing from her as I'm desperate to get a refill.

This has been the second time that I've had the opportunity to to be seen by Dr. Flannigan at The Center For Digestive Health And Nutrition. Both times the staff has been wonderful. I felt very relaxed and cared for. Dr. Flannigan was very personable and professionable. The procedures were quite easy thanks to both Dr. Flannigan and the staff. I will be going back, in five years, for my next one.

Dr. Flannagan made a hospital visit to my mother. She enterred the room with an attitude. She was offended that questions were asked. When her behavior was pointed out to her, she tried to use scare tactics. She even went so far as to try and deny pain medication. Her bad behavior was confirmed by the other patient, in the room. I would never recommend that she see any other patient.
