Dr. Renee Nicole Goodreau, MD

I lost our third baby. Before the D and C Dr. Goodreau assured me that I would be safe. That was not the case. During the procedure, she cut too deep into my endometrium and hit a vein. I lost 1.5 litres of blood. She stopped the bleeding, but told my husband that there was no damage done to my cervix or uterus when he asked. I also acquired a blood clot from the IV site. I was put on Lovenox for 3-4 weeks, but began bleeding internally two weeks in when I began my menstrual cycle. The bleeding vein was embolized at Good Samaritan. I followed up with my family doctor and my midwife as I was told to do. I am not a doctor, so I was just following up on the basics. Any pain? No. Any more bleeding? No. Ok. Dr. Goodreau did not contact me until 2 months later!!!! This was the first time anything like this had ever happened to me. When I did meet with her, she explained that a weird sqiggly vain had got in the way and was nicked. She told me to wait a year, then I could get pregnant again… and I would be fine. Again, I made the mistake of trusting her. There was no mention of follow up for the blood clot. I didn't know we needed it until later. We conceived again, but were devastated to have lost another child. The arm that had the blood clot before began hurting really bad. THEY FOUND A BLOOD CLOT THAT WENT FROM THE MIDDLE OF MY UPPER ARM TO MY JUGULAR! I was put on Xarelto that night. They tried to contact Dr. Goodreau, but apparently she doesn't deal with blood clots. What?!! She spoke with a hematologist the year before and prescribed Lovenox!! When I passed the miscarriage, (caused by the blood clot), I hemorrhaged severely and was moments from dying. Turns out, the damage she did to my uterus caused me to develop an AVM (altrovenous malformation). SHE NEVER TOLD US I HAD AN AVM. Did she know? Yes she did. My new gyn/onc, called Goodreau and Goodreau told her I had an avm. She printed out the medical records for us to look at and it says in a short sentence, "Suspected AVM." This was approved by Goodreau and another doctor. My husband and I researched avms and they only come about through genetics or traumatic injury. I have no family history of avms. Dr. Goodreau intentionally DID NOT FOLLOW UP OR FOLLOW THROUGH with the blood clot. Dr. Goodreau intentionally DID NOT TELL US ABOUT A LIFETHREATENING AVM IN MY UTERUS. I am now at high risk of blood clots and at high risk if I get pregnant again. Do not go see Dr. Goodreau. She is nice and has a warm smile when all is well. But when there is trouble, or in this case, when she makes a mistake, she is very quick to fade into the background. I have since received a termination of care letter from her office after I tried to ask her a some questions cordially. Find another doctor. Get as many opinions of your needed care as possible. I have lost all faith in doctors.

I was in a lot of pain. Goodreau accused me of wanting pain medication because I reported to her I was having side pain at three separate visits. After this I switch doctors, but she made sure to let me know she would be letting the new doctor know I wanted pain medication. Well turns out I have an advance form of gallbladder cancer that has spread. If she would of done her job I might of had more time with my children.

I was seen by Dr. Goodreau after an ER visit where they found a mass on my left Ovary. She called me to move my appointment up and to let me know that they had already received approval from my insurance for surgery. Dr. Goodreau, answered all my question, she has a great bedside manner! I highly recommend Dr. Goodreau and her entire office.

I love Dr. Goodreau. She is amazing. She always listens to my concerns and is always there when I need her. She is friendly and has the best personality. She always answes any questions I might have and goes above and beyond expectaion!

She's a doctor and its her responsibility to watch babies who may be born addicted to narcotics or advise women on the appropriate amount of weight to gain. She did her job with me and knew all the appropriate criteria. Was also genuine and pleasant. Highly recommend!

Dr. Goodreau appears well put together and is obviously intelligent, but that is about all that I can compliment her on. She doesn't answer questions to satisfaction, in my experience she just gave me some hand outs and that was it. I had severe morning sickness that she refused to treat because she thought that I needed to lose some weight, even though my BMI falls within the normal range. I believe her exact words were "we won't treat you for that until you have lost 15lbs, and so far you have only dropped 10". Never mind that I was almost 7 months pregnant and still hadn't gained ANY pregnancy weight due to the unrelenting nausea. I became fed up with her and switched to one of the midwives in the practice and ended up loving her. I highly recommend that you avoid Dr. Goodreau.

The only thing nice about this appointment was the nurse who took me to my room. This was my first appointment after finding out that im pregnant. I take medications for the ruptured discs in my back and she treated me as if I use drugs for recreation. I had asked the nurse to tell the dr to have my boyfriend step out prior to my pelvic exam. The nurse told me that was no porblem at all. So when it came time the doctor looks at me and says "You wanted him to leave for this, right?" Put me on the spot right in front of him. The entire appt was uncomfortable. Then a week later my emergency contact gets four phone calls from the office but he works construction and cant return the call until after 5 o'clock and they are closed. A week after that I get a certified letter stating that I have abnormal cervical cells and it could be cancer so I need a procedure done to find out how extensive it is and that it is very important that I contact the office and follow through with an… appt. So I call first thing Monday morning and im told I need to wait 23 days and that waiting is just fine, not a big deal, we just need to follow up on it. And because im pregnant the doctor probably wont be doing the biopsy anyway. There are a couple smaller issues as well but I thought others should know about these. After talking to others around here, I should've done my homework first. Everyone that I spoke to has had a bad experience or knows someone who has had a bad experience there.

Refused to see or help a patient with special needs.Rude and unprofessional office staff. this office is only about money and not helping anybody. Do yourself a favor and avoid this Dr.

Like others said she is professional and intelligent but you might want to find someone that will answer your questions. If you have complications or worries during your pregnancy, don't expect to get compassion, or questions answered, she is quick to get out the door.

Dr. Goodreau appears together, well dressed and appealing to the eye, however, her bedside manner and resulting communication skills are lacking as noted below. And make no mistake, there is no question she is intelligent and qualified to be a doctor, the issues are interpersonal communications with her patients. She is very dismissive normally and does not address questions adequately that she does not think are important enough, regardless of her patient and their comfort level. Some may like her just fine and she she is likely good for those who have next to no questions or problems. However, for those who DO have questions and DO have secondary health issues come up during their pregnancy, she is very lacking. We will probably be looking for a new doctor before it is too late.
