Dr. Renee C Moenning, MD

Dr. Moenning has been my rheumatologist for 8 years. She's the most caring & careful, concerned doctor I could imagine. She's always prepared for our appointments, & she's caught a number of situations that other doctors missed. You'd be fortunate to have this provider!

Never returns email or phone calls and makes you take all kinds of test and then doesn't follow up with you regarding your results! Waste of time and money! Bedside manner is awful and doesn't care about her patients!

The experience with Dr. Moenning and her staff is beyond poor. The 1-star given should be a zero. I have never seen so much sitting around in one doctor's office and trust me when I say, over the last few years, I have been in multiple doctor's offices. This doctor DOES NOT listen to patients. This doctor stands in front of her computer and came to two appointments I had with her unprepared for my questions. Twice my family and I waited for over an hour to see a doctor after we traveled for three hours for a doctor appointment. My family and I made six trips to Dr. Moenning. Had to take vacation days to waste my time and got no answers. Dr. Moenning put us on a medication that did not work and instead of taking us off the medication and try something else, she increased the dosage. Dr. Moenning is also lacking in patient service skills. I have waited in excess of 10 days for a reply to an email that it took one other doctor that works with IU Hospital two days to respond to. … I have since moved on from Dr. Moenning due to the lack of professional patient care. It really is too bad that this doctor continues to be allowed to practice. She needs to take a class on bed side manner, appropriate patient care, and communication with patients, just to name a few. Find another rheumatlogist if you really want to be helped and cared for!

I have never been more frustrated about a physician. Dr. Moenning made me feel like I was wasting her time. Multiple physicians recommended I see a rheumatologist but every thing I told her she would defer me to talk with other physicians not her. I could tell she was only partially listening to what i was saying. She had me go for xrays and bloodwork. I had to contact multiple times for results. I would ask questions about the testing and she would only answer some things not everything. I had to send multiple messages to get answers which finally gave up on getting answers because she wasn't answering what i was asking. I finally got a review of my testing from my primary care physician who didn't order the tests but was willing to give me answers.

I have never been more frustrated with a doctor. Dr Moenning acted like she didn't have time to deal with me. I felt like she wasn't even listening to me as she would defer everything to me needing to talk to other physicians which really made me feel like she was annoyed to be wasting her time with me. She seemed to have her mind made up before she even walking in the door about what was wrong with me and even though multiple physicians had said I really needed to see a rheumatologist she saw no reason for me to be there. After the appointment she sent me for xrays and bloodwork. I was able to see online when all results came back and I had to contact multiple times to get info from her as to what they meant. I repeatedly sent questions that she would only answer partially but not fully. The only way I got answers about the test results were to go to my primary care doctor for him to review them with me.

I have had several visits with this doctor. The first two appointments she spent time trying to get results from another doctor. I had to call the other doctor's office for this doctor to get the results. I also had problems with this doctor to return email. I spent more than a week trying to get questions answered. On more than one visit our wait was for 30+ minutes. The office staff is rude and unfriendly. I saw more sitting around in a 30 minute period at this doctor's office than any I have ever visited. One visit she was one hour late, did not come prepared to answer my questions, and stood for more than half of this appointment at her computer. I drove three hours to sit and wait. She has had me on one particular medication for three months now and there has been no change in how I feel. This doctor refuses to listen. I have asked this doctor, "I am asking for you help" ... its like it went in one ear and out the other. I have an appointment coming soon and am ready… to part ways and look another direction.

By far one of the worst doctors I've had the displeasure of seeing in a long time. After waiting 2 months to get in to see her, the appointment was less than 20 minutes and she did not take any time to get to know me, my symptoms, or what I was going through. She literally looked at two figures, my blood pressure (from feeling awful and anxious) and that I'm heavy and chalked it up to heart disease. Did not discuss how these symptoms were suddenly onset, that three other doctors were pointing towards either RA or Lupus... then was condescending to me about "maybe having fibromyalgia". The office staff was unprofessional and rude.

1) I waited for an hour and a half just to be roomed, then I waited another 45 m for doctor.2) I heard two nurses laughing because they "almost gave chemotherapy to the wrong patient." The didn't verify patient info according to HIPAA requirements & confused 2 patients with same 1st name.3) She barely made eye contact with me and stared at her computer the whole time.4) She argued with me about the severity of my signs and symptoms and told me "there's no way your eyes could possibily be that dry." I've been in a clinical trial for dry eye...so my diagnosis of severe dry eye is solid.5) She implied I was exagerating and hypersensitive and dismissed most of what I told her.6) I have a PhD and I'm a scientist in immunology and she treated me like an idiot with hypochondriasis.7) The whole appointment was so horrifying I filed a formal complaint with my PCP.
