Dr. Reynaldo Nava, MD

Dr Nava is a great surgeon! He very attentive to his patients. People think these doctors are not busy but they are very busy seeing patients in clinic, on the floor, ER, Urgent and basically doing hospital rounds. Before you judge Dr nava, find out the facts why it took him 5 hrs to see your grandmother. These surgeons don't sit around in their office waiting to see there patients. They majority of the time doing emergency surgeries. Maybe he was, saving someone life in surgery for 5 hours, idiots!

I am the great grandson of the 88 year old victim who is fighting for her life in critical care because of Dr. Reynaldo Nava who let her suffer for five hours and go into septic shock, hoping she would just die. Please, Dr. Nava.. it's obvious that you like to play God, but must you write yourself a 4 star review?

This doctor does not seem to think that elderly people are worth much. He should be kept far away from elderly people. This doctor allowed my grandmother to suffer with signs and symptoms of sepsis (an emergency, life-threatening situation) for nearly 5 hours IN THE HOSPITAL. It took him nearly 5 hours to come up and see my grandmother who had shaking, chills, fever, low blood pressure, gray skin and disorientation AFTER BEING PAGED NUMEROUS TIMES by staff and other doctors whose hands were tied. When he did finally arrive he suggested "comfort care" (kill her, in other words)and did not even speak TO HER or touch her. With his arms crossed and an inappropriate smile on his face he said that she is old (88 years old)and tried to convince us that she has "lived a full life" already. Nearly FIVE HOURS of us crying and pleading for help IN A HOSPITAL ROOM and he was refusing to treat her life threatening condition.. having her listen to him talking that way about HER LIFE as though he is… God. He would not even touch her. When another doctor finally came, she was immediately rushed to ICU where she is currently improving with the diagnosis of sepsis. In sepsis, every minute counts. The delay may cost my grandmother her life or permanent health damage. He caused her needless suffering. She was originally admitted for GI problems and he is a GI doctor. This is NOT our first experience with Dr. Nava. About a year ago, my grandmother required surgery and a colostomy. Back then he told us the same thing and his department sent hospice to our home without even consulting us first and planned to discharge her home with Hospice. Needless to say, my grandmother DID have the surgery and has lived a "full life" since then with her only hospitalizations being recently. She enjoyed Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter with her loving family who she even cooked for like she always did. To have her suffer for nearly five hours and then try and convince us that not to treat her life threatening sepsis (that she acquired IN THE HOSPITAL most likely from their I.V. site!) while watching her suffer in front of his eyes.. saying that she's already lived a "full life" is unethical, cruel, unprofessional, and disgusting. During those nearly 5 hours she was suffering and managed to mouth "doctor doesn't want to help me?" several times. She then prayed in her native language (Croatian) and said she would be with her daughter / our mother who past away years ago. Dr. Nava not only put my grandmother through physical suffering, he put her through emotional suffering and caused us (family) grief, forcing us to watch her and try and comfort her best we could. If she does make it home, I hope she doesn't remember Dr. Nava and his words and actions.

Dr. Nava made me feel comfortable about a major procedure I needed to have. He sat down and answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. During my recovery he was very attentive and I'm fortunate to have had him as my surgeon.
