Dr. Rhanni Naama Herzfeld, MD

My 19y/o daughter was referred to Dr. Herzfeld from her ENT after recovering from a sinus infection and having repeated headaches after COVID-19. My daughter was 8 minutes late to her appt bc of car problems (this is legit). The doctor refused to see her bc she was late and did not fill out paperwork before the appt. We are in the midst of a pandemic and she refused to see a patient suffering from post COVID issues who was referred from her peer. Where is her empathy, apparently she has 7 children. Worse yet, when my daughter got back to her car it wouldn't start.

Horrific. My mother was referred to her by her PCP because of an MRI showing increased white matter (i.e., cognitive issues) and it took two months to get in. Today we finally went and she seemed to be in a fury from the moment we met her. She bullied my mother for the very condition we went in to see her for -- memory issues and word retrieval! Now I see how elder abuse happens. She was the angriest, most unprofessional, most bizarre medical professional I have ever encountered in my life. DO NOT TAKE ANYONE IN NEED OF ACTUAL HELP.

We are having a horrible experience with Dr. Herzfeld. My father and our family are in crisis and in danger due to the neurological condition Herzfeld has seen him for for several years. She is inaccessible, dismissive and impassive. My father went missing this morning and my mom called her office in a panic. She could not be bothered to speak to my mom because she was with a patient. No one has any sense of urgency or compassion. We are at an absolute loss as my dad spirals out of control and she refuses to help. She shrugged him off with "he needs to go see a geriatric psychiatrist." But my father has refused to see psychiatrists all his life and is combative now. His current problems are all rooted in the deterioration of his brain, which--again--is why we see her. She wrote my mom an email basically saying "You don't understand what I can and can't do as a neurologist. I can't prescribe anything. Please let me know if I can be of help in any other way here." So...you don't… understand how I can help you, but please let me know how I can be of help. Absolute cop-out. How about making a referral to one of the geriatric psychiatrists she insists we seek out? I can't understand her lack of compassion and concern. She has washed her hands of him because he's not her problem anymore. He's manic, paranoid, aggressive, insomniac, and abusive to my mother. How hard would it be offer one or two names to help connect us to one of the "appropriate" professionals? It's never even occurred to her. Thanks for all your help, Dr. Herzfeld.

After many visits sent me for a spinal exam. In addition to the primary test she added several additional tests of spinal fluid. I was not advised on the painful side effects from the procedure and when the results came back the primary test results were not performed. The hospital performing the exam told me she did not include the instructions for the primary test. When I attempted to contact her about it to find out what happened but never received a call back. Her office staff were rude and belligerent and wouldn’t even provide me with the original order. I never went back and would recommend second opinions and double checking her prescriptions and orders.

Seeing this doctor with a sensitive matter was not a pleasant experience at all. She appeared judgemental and seemed to have smirked to herself a few times. I don't think anyone who wants a sensitive physician will find her to be any good.

I came to Dr. Herzfeld when I was exhibiting the first signs of Parkinson’s (finger twitching uncontrollably). She basically dismissed my concern saying if it was PD, “It was the earliest case she had ever seen.” I tried to return for a follow up but my appointments were cancelled without notice. I certainly would have appreciated if she had been more forethcoming about her lack of knowledge of PD and had recommended a Neurologist with a specialty in PD and other Movement Disorders. About 6 months after I met with Dr. Herzfeld, I met with 2 such specialists who both immediately diagnosed PD and started a course of treatment including prescribing medications to help with some painful and uncomfortable symptoms. With regard for this review, I can only conclude the facts speak for themselves.

Dr. Herzfeld has been my neurologist since she initially diagnosed my MS. She has been incredibly kind, supportive and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Moreover she was a strong advocate for me with insurance providers to help ensure that I received the testing and treatment that was best for me rather than what was most cost effective for them.

Dr Herzfeld, while very kind, professional and likely well-intentioned, gave me a prescription for Klonopin for a facial tic. 12 years later, and after many horrible side-effects, I tapered off this terrible drug and have experienced terrible side effects and withdrawals for over a year. Dr Herzfeld, if you read this, please stop prescribing benzodiazepines. They do way more damage to patients than relief and the withdrawals and damage to the brain lasts years after getting off them, if you can get off them. I would not recommend this physician based on how easily she prescribed this medication to me that just about ruined my life.

I met her yesterday for the first time She is very professional warm hearted to patient and very down to earth She can put a smile on your face I have no regrets choosing her as my neurologist

I love her! She is the best. I was diagnosed with MS in 2009, I was seeing another neurologist that had me on unnecessary meds. A co-worker insisted that I switch doctors. I did; I'm super thankful and have no regrets! Great beside manner & when I leave my ANNUAL appointment, I feel like I am MS free! As you can see I said, "ANNUAL"! Prior to becoming a patient of Dr. Herzfeld, my appointments were quarterly. Yes, I see her only once a year for annual an annual check up!
