Her clinical focus includes neonatal hemodynamics and optimizing the growth and nutrition of preterm infants.In 2014, Dr. Basu received her Bachelor of Science in biology and medical science from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. She then attended University of London, St. George’s Hospital in London, United Kingdom, earning her medical degree in 2018. For her postgraduate training, she came to the United States, completing a pediatrics residency at Einstein in 2021. She then pursued a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital / Nemours Children’s Hospital / Christiana Care Health Services, completing it in 2024, taking the role of Chief Education Fellow in her final year.Dr. Basu’s research focus includes evaluating changes and clinical applications of the preterm infant’s gut microbiome, preterm growth and nutrition, as well as neonatal hemodynamics and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) outcomes. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed publication and poster presentations.Dr. Basu is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and is a member of the AAP Sections on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Bioethics and Simulation and Innovative Learning Methods.
