Dr. Rhoda Elizabeth Burns, MD

Not our first choice as a Dr. at Eastern Shore Childrens clinic. Does not take time to listen to parents. Wrong diagnosis with my child. Never will go back to her or clinic again. Changing doctors asap.

unethical. withheld care, breaking the hippocratic oath. signed up with her because our insurance said she was on our plan. a month or so later with a very sick child, her office would not schedule an appointment because although she DOES take our insurance, she picks and chooses which patients. called our insurance, who said that was illegal and she WAS our child's doctor of record. the child required hospitalization but did not have a doctor because her office manager said she was not required to take all patients, and basically said "well sue me" when I explained what the insurance company said about the law. so though she was the doctor of record, she refused care. i will be contacting the state regarding malpractice and demanding that this be straightened out so that future patients do not suffer as my child did.

Dr. Burns was very friendly however the nurses in her office were not very personable. When my baby was getting shots one nurse didn't even try to soothe her or talk to her before giving them to her. I do believe that Dr. B is a knowledgeable doctor but she tends to talk to adults as if they are children as well. My husband felt that she thought we were dumb with the way she spoke to us.

Our community can celebrate Dr. Burns in giving a generation of excellent care to our children. Her soft, assuring voice and straightforward manner put her child patients at ease, but do not distract from her top-notch diagnostic skills. She is thorough, while making efficient use of healthcare resources (and your time and money). She helps families of all types be as healthy as possible.

Dr. Burns spends a great deal of time with my baby at each appointment, and seems to genuinely enjoy her work. My baby loves her sweet, soft voice and responds very well to her. She takes all of my concerns seriously and addresses each of them at length. Highly recommended.
