Dr. Rian Leslie Montgomery, MD

I would not recommend. My mom sent several messages through the Patient Advocate and the call was never sent or they never responded. The Advocate says that she sent the message to the nurse practitioner which never called. After setting an appointment my mom was told to go back to work after she was trying to let her know that she could not work. After going to the ER after a couple of days she was hospitalized. My mom was not given a listening ear of how she was feeling and no sympathy

I was a first time patient about six months ago. He had his nurse do my intake and then after waiting another forty minutes, he finally saw me. He did not examine me at all; only ordered blood work and xrays. I also needed a referral for my psychiatrist / suboxone doctor through UAB, and it took him five months to finally get my referral done. He wears no socks with his feet half way in his shoes and never got out of his chair not once. He seems lazy, unprofessional, rude, short, snappy, arrogant, and like he doesn't want to be there doing his job.

I have NEVER in my life met a doctor so mean, cruel, unkind, and disrespectful as this man. If you are thinking of making an appointment, don't.

DR. MONTGOMERY HAS BEEN MY PHYSICIAN FOR OVER 8 YEARS. HE ALWAYS LISTENS TO ME. WHENEVER I NEED A REFILL ON MY BP MED. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS CALL HIM AND IT IS AT THE PHARMACY WHEN I GET THERE. HE IS VERY PRECISE. HE CONSTANLY FUSS AT ME AND IT IS BECAUSE I KNOW I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND I DON'T LIKE TO TAKE THE MEDICATION. MOST PHYSICIAN WOULD HAVE DISMISSED A PATIENT FROM THEIR PRACTICE. BUT I GUESS HE IS MORE CONCERN ABOUT MY HEALTH. HE DO ROLL AROUND IN HIS CHAIR BUT HE STILL IS A CARING PHYSICIAN, I THINK HE IS VERY SMART IN MEDICINE AND IN THE PROFESSIONAL MANNER. MY DR. IS A GOOD PERSON.

Dr. Montgomery seldom, if ever, gives his patients a thorough examination. He rolls around in his chair, listens to the patient's heart as well as he can from that vantage point, then takes a perfunctory blood pressure check. That's it! No disrobing, no paper gowns, no feeling around on the patient's body. He does, however, a thorough review of the medications a patient is supposed to take and will hold refills hostage if a patient is slow about keeping appointments. If you think you need a referral to a specialist, beware! Dr. Montgomery tries to treat all ailments and all conditions and when a referral is finally made, it is usually too late.

DR.MONTGOMERY WAS SO RUDE AND HATEFUL TO ME I WAS A NEW PATIENT AND WAS REFUSED MY MEDICAL NESS MEDS BY HIM AND WAS BY HIM HE WOULDNT GIVE ME ANY OF MY MEDICAL MEDICATION BECAUSE HE HAS THE WORSE BEDSIDE MANNER I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTER IN A DOCTOR PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS MAN HE DOESNT HAVE HIS PATIENTS BEST INTREST AT HEART IS ALL ABOUT WHAT INSURANCE YOU HAVE AND HOW MUCH HES GONNA GET PAID

He has been my physician for a long time. I have had no reason to think of changing.

Dr Montgomery is very detail oriented and spends quality time with his patients when explaining your medical condition, treatment plan, and possible outcomes. He has a very large practice, which makes it difficult to see him for immeadiate needs without a prior appt.

Has spent up to 45 minutes with me in exam room, fully looking at what the problem is. I never feel rushed out of the room. You do have to wait to see him sometimes, but it is worth it for the attention I receive from him.
