Dr. Ricardo P Maribona, MD

I went to Dr. Maribona regarding my left big toenail. I felt that it was toenail fungus, but instead of prescribing the med for it, Dr. Maribona took a biopsy of the toenail, which was extremely painful & sensitive for over 3 mos. It's now 10 mos. later & my left big toe is now numb from that nonsense procedure! Dr. Maribona told me that he takes the biopsy to find out what the problem is, rather than prescribing the toenail fungus med. Dr. Maribona said that your blood work needs monitored while taking the toenail fungus med (he made it sound like this was a bad med to take). Instead he prescribed 2 prescriptions which I was to alternately take. When I received the prescriptions, one of them had a warning that it could cause cadiac problems. I immediately called Dr. Maribona's office re. the possible side effects of this med, which was definitely alot worse than the toenail fungus med. I was told that Dr. Maribona said not to take the medicine if I didn't want to. When Dr.… Maribona got the results of my toenail biopsy back, it was indeed toenail fungus. A very expensive toenail fungus - I paid for several Dr. visits, lab costs, 2 prescriptions-which I didn't even use, etc. My opinion of Dr. Maribona was that he wanted to get as much money as he could from me, not caring about the pain I endured from the biopsy! I'll definitely never return to him again.
